Whats the redline?

What do the 2003.5 Mazdaspeed protege redline at?
My car shows on the gauge 6500 but I can take the car up to 7000. What does this mean? I bought the car used this past October and I am always finding something new with it. One of the best cars I have ever owned thats for sure.

The redline is 65000, not 6500, just keep revving..

redl ine is 6500rpm, fuel cut is a little higher than that, and stock tach is wildly inaccurate.

fuel cut? you mean rev limiter? The rev limiter is at ~7k..

Don't even bother revving it that high. I took my car just over 8,000 on the dyno to see what happens, and it just quit making power after 6,500... There's no point.
