whats the difference between a fuel cut and boost spike? (confused) (uhm)

at high rpm's sometimes the boost drops down to stock and back up and drops again and so on. what is that? btw im boosting 9/10 psiSuper Matty P said:fuel cut doesn't exsist. It's called "Spark cut"....if you cut fuel under boost you'll blow your motor.
Spark cut occurs when the MAF voltage reading sets off an ecu-controlled limiter and ignition spark is turned off so the motro quits accelerating
Boost spike is when a turbo is building boost and for some reason shoots up suddenly (usually to unsafe levels). Boost spiking can cause spark cut.
That's called cheap ass plastic IC pipes that leak @ 10psi.KonspiracyImage said:at high rpm's sometimes the boost drops down to stock and back up and drops again and so on. what is that? btw im boosting 9/10 psi
what do you mean? (huh)KpaBap said:Does the rev-limiter not cut fuel?
ITS A K NOT Cmazdaspeedpower said:'Fuel Cut', like Turbo...errr Super Matty P said, is when the ECU senses something that could cause harm to the engine, and in turn, cuts the spark, preventing any combustion in the engine, therefore preventing the harm of something, like say a boost spike. A boost spike is when the tubine for any reason, produces a quick surge in air, over the regulated amount, say, instead of boosting 7psi, spiking up to 10, and then returning again to 7psi. The loss of boost you are explaining is boost leak, the turbo usually has nothing to do with thism but like Black Majic said, cheapo plastic IC pipes, or a loose connection in the pipes. I hope this helps, basically I am just restating the things said before
