whats everyones boost spiking and holding???

im trying to figure what boost everyone is running stock or cold air intake. cause mine spikes almost 20 and holds 15 to 16 pounds till 6000 rpm then drops to 10. and also has anyone tried sprayin these cars yet? im thinkin about a little 35 shot. already got a nitrous kit from my probe GT.

u shouldn't be spiking at all with just the CAI ... u throwing a cell ?

you should only be spiking when you open up the exhaust.

nitrous FTW !!! 35-50 shot jets is what i am planning on !!!
 
Mine spikes 18-20 whenever I get on it hard enough, not even when shifting gears, then it drops to 15-17 I hit 15 solid in 2nd also, I have an injen cai... hks bov..
 
!!? You guys have a bad wastegate or somethings theres no way you should be spiking such high ass numbers. But your car should shut off the fuel supply and it feels like your hitting a brick wall.

Im not gong to argue with that, I really dont think Ive hit fuel cut though, I think I would know, it is a dumb feeling lol

I think spraying these cars would be asking for trouble though. The only Nos I would put on the car would be on the intercooler....(eek2)
 
no fuel cut here. it pulls hard when it spikes to 20. i feel the difference when its in the spike, to when it drops and holds the 15,16psi. i will try a different boost guage and see what happens. i think a 35 shot shold be fine. anyone know officially what the max whp limit is. and do we have any forged internals stock.

how would it be asking for trouble ? we aren't talking about a 150-200 shot, we are talking about a 35-50 shot.

voicekoil, do you know anything about nitrous? i would like to see what your reasoning is for not liking nitrous on an MS3 ?

Purge on the IC with a 35 shot ... HMMM HMMMM , nothin sweeter !!!(kiss)
 
are you using a mechanical or an electricle boost guage? Beacuse mechanicle are not as reliable. And most turbo cars dont cut fuel they pull timing or with or electronic throtle most likely it closes it. lean is bad on turbo cars.
 
my car used to spike to 20psi too..... then i took out the cheap ass e-bay boost gauge i had in the car !! now with my prosport gauge it shows a much more realistic spike to about 17-18 and holds 14-16.
 
it is a mechanical boost guage. ill try a diffrent one as soon as i get back from my honymoon. thanks and i am going to do the 35 shot nos.
 
(Nitrous) I dont think the computer is redy for it by adding extra fuel but with our extremly rich AFR a 35 shot might just be doable but dont take my word on nitrous dont and havent used it.
 
im going to try it. and see what happens. im sure it will be fine with the 35 shot. a freind did almost 100 shot on a slightly modded srt-4 and he was fine. so a 35 wet shot should be more than safe.

as soon as i try it i will go to the dyno and do before and after with the 35 shot.
 
I spike at 15psi and holding 10. But then I let off the gas before it gets to a crazy speed cause i dont want to get a ticket. Or maybe the placement of my vacuum tube is in the wrong place? Is it possible that it's teed off at the wrong place? Can anyone tell me where I can teed off. A picture would be nice. thanks brahs!
