What would it take to get 200hp N.A.?

Japanese Axela has a more aggressive timing and fueling maps, and requires premium (93) fuel. That gives you as much as your typical intake/header/exhaust does.

That's still only a "crank" rating, which bears no resemblance to wheel horsepower whatsoever.

200 crank horse, will probably cost you about $6 - $7k, all other things being equal.

None of the mods to make it happen will preserve your warranty.
Driveability will suffer.

Thats why most folks want to do turbos/superchargers....
Easy horsepower, and generally reversible.

Wrong in a lot of ways! You will definately gain more from intake/header/exhaust than from the ECU changes the Japanese Axela has. And alot of tuners are saying for 200whp it would be cheaper to go all motor than FI.
And how do you say drivablity will suffer? And I seriously doubt it will cost 6 - 7 thousand to do..... (headshake

mazda 3 s stock starts out with 160 hp from a 2.3 liter 4 cylinder engine. i dont know much about the mazda engine, and i havent read much about it, but these are what you can do to your engine if you wanna go n/a. basic mods, like intake, headers exhaust. then cam gears, camshafts, pulleys, bigger injectors, higher compression pistons, and ecu tuning. maybe port and polishing to. pistons, and injectors are what gives you the most gain, more air and fuel equals more power. not sure exactly how much power it would have, but my guess with all this, you ll probably get well above 200 hp at the crank.

of course, theres N2O. easy way to produce 200 hp at the crank, but wont last as long.
