Edmunds has compiled what it considers the top ten best vehicles for senior citizens. Seniors, defined as those sixty-five and older, represent the fastest-growing segment of America's population. The article addresses the strengths and weaknesses of each vehicle as they relate to a seniors perceived needs.

The list, in alphabetic order, includes :

  • Audi A8
  • BMW 7 Series
  • Buick Lucerne
  • Chrysler 300
  • Ford Five Hundred/Mercury Montego
  • Honda Civic
  • Pontiac Montana SV6 (NOTE: The Montana is being retired by General Motors)
  • Toyota Avalon (pictured)
  • Toyota Prius
  • Toyota Sienna
Are there other vehicles you think deserve the AARP seal-of-approval?

Wow, I agree with the Honda, but the rest of that list is wacked.

Toyota Corolla
Ford Taurus (now Fusion)
Scion xB (don't ask)
Chevrolet Malibu
Toyota Camry

I have never seen someone that is retired drive an A8. Over 50 sure, but they were executives that weren't retired yet.

I have never seen anyone over the age of 50 drive a 300, or any new minivan.

My grandmother drives a 05 300c and she's well over 50. I see older people all the time driving minivans.

I see them in the 'xB' all the time and it always gets my attention. The reason is, every young person in an xB has it modified but when you see a stock one it totally stands out and looks more original.

1985-1995 caddy or lincoln

Seems what post of the greay-hairs drive around here.

(the big boat ones with the faux leather roof and the little round porthole style windows in back)

A8!?!?! 7 Series?!?! Seniors would freak out with all that "crazy" technology in those cars...and i-drive? FO-GETABOUT-IT!
