Mazdaspeed Protege 2003.5
I have recently bought the following mods, and I'm neededing a bov to complete the parts needed for install. Just curious about what is working for y'all and doesn't have turkey.

Mishimoto rad
Fmic, new 2.5 piping
2 12" slim fans
All new couplers

Any advice is always appreciated
Thank you

Sound hmm I guess the sound that a ssq produces, I like loud even though some don't.

I'm also wondering why my current bov will not blow off in neutral or first.

I really wish people would start to see that there are other bovs that sound waaaay better than the hks ssq. But to each their own I suppose. I have a Greddy Type S on my set up and it seems it has completely eliminated the turkey for the 7 months its been on there.

As for it not blowing off, it isn't going to "blow off" if its still the factory bpv. Also, the minimal load on your motor in neutral r first isn't going to be making a much exhaust, so your turbo isn't gonna spool up a whole lot.

Sound is all opinion, I love the way my HKS sounds and don't care for my buddy's Greddy. Not to mention it is self-adjustible and it doesn't have turkey.

Synapse synchronic BOV. I like it no adjustments, springs, or diaphrams to mess with. sounds pretty good. Absolutely 0 turkey

So, if you guys are running the Synapse and venting to the atmosphere, are you using the anti-stall valve kit? If not, doesn't it stay open under vacuum like a bpv?

Yes it does stay open, with a relocated MAF you won't have any issue.

Turbosmart Dual Port, but I run a standalone, Haltech, MAF Removed!

I run aftermarket engine management, so no anti-stall kit needed.

Yeah, I get that. My MAF is relocated, so I know it would not have a driveability issue, but under vacuum isn't it sucking unfiltered air into the engine? Probably not a big deal, but just curious...

It actually pushes air out at idle. If you put your hand in front you can feel it.

my buddy and I just installed a turbosmart vee port pro on his msp. sounds great. i'm looking into turbosmart supersonic. I'm not a fan of the whistle BOV'S I think a nice full bodied swoosh is the way to go. just my opinion.
