Okay before writing I just want to say im looking a ebay turbo. I kno its not a good idea but I cannot afford a genuine turbo at this point. So that being said does any on know a ebay turbo that will bolt up? I dont care if I have to clock it or drill a hole bigger. Please reply really need help found a couple but not sure.

I literally just received my eBay GT2860RS .64AR. I did not want to spend $1,200 on a new Garrett turbo. Wasn't going to happen. I worked out a deal that allowed me to get a turbo for free basically. I was being paid with parts of my choosing, so I figured I'd try out that turbo. I just inspected it today and overall it seems okay. I look at it this way- I am out $0 for it, so even if it lasts for 5,000 miles and fails, no big deal.

it should bolt up, but the compressor side will need to be clocked. i'd spend a couple hundred more though, at least get something that's from a "china-brand" that's more reputable like isis or even gsp. just by looking at the photos you can tell it hasnt been balanced
I've got one sitting in my car right now that HAS been balanced. It's that exact turbo, too.

Sheeesh that's cheap. Prob wouldn't last long though. Ballbearing or journal? Might not be bad for a cheap power adder to my p5 though...

Journal bearing. It's part of a deal I worked out with someone. I got that turbo, new hardware, new gaskets and new tires ($560) for R&R'ing an engine in a WRX. Even if it only lasts for 6 months, realistically, it's not that big of a deal because I don't have any money tied up in it.

i stand corrected, definitely let us know how it works out!

Curious how it will hold up. Id be worried about quality of castings at that price. Compressor wheel esp.

Also I personally would not want to do a turbo swap every couple months. But you seem to do an engine swap as frequently :P

Definitely curious though.

I can R&R an FS in my sleep at this point. It takes me about 2 hours to R&R the turbo assembly, +/- .5hr for transferring components. It's the toy, so not really a big deal.
