What to do

Ok, so I'll spare the details, But I need some advice.
Recently there was some events between me and a good friend, and a fight occured..which he started. During the scuffle, I destroyed something of his, with little monetary value, but HUGE personal value. Now, right away we where bitchin at each other, and I just couldn't understand why he was so upset about the item, and I was pissed that he started the fight. But he's my best bud, through thick and thin, so I said fuckit, and said I was wrong. Now, he told me the reasons why he was so upset about the item, and I now feel extremely bad. What do I do? Like, I feel so bad I want to kill myself. Like, it was accidental, but still, knowing what I know now I feel beyond bad...what would you suggest I do? Please don't be a cock-sucker here, it is not the place or time to **** around...I really need some adivice, and all I have to turn to at this very second is you people. Hopefully this will be one of those threads where you are all cool and nice. Thanks for the respect of my wishes not to be dicks.

Unfortunately, since the item was something personal.....and obviously had deep meaning to your friend.....its not something you can replace. I believe from what you said in your post, the two of you have resolved your diferences...and have made up. Take another opportunity to ernestly tell your friend how sorry you are, and ask him if there is ANYTHING you can do to make up for it. If he actually suggests something, which I highly doubt he will, as nothing can usually replace those kinds of things, follow through. You took a big step by appologizing and saying you were wrong. It takes a big man to do that.

Most importantly.....LEARN from this valuable lesson. And don't allow yourself to repeat it.

Good friends....REAL friends are rare in life.....we all know a lot of people....we all have many aquaintenances.....but we usually only have a hand full of what you can call a REAL TRUE FRIEND, don't allow yourself to loose one over something like this..

well, we've been friends for almost 8 years, so we are usually really tight. Just so happend that in the slight scuffle insuing the punch in my face he dished out(which was later deemed a true accident...and was a good blow, lip bled on both side) that i accidently magnled this personal affect. I'm thinking of doing something special for him, since it had deep meaning, and like I said when he told me I just completely was like 'WOW' since first of all he's usually not emotional about things, so this was huge for him to actually be emotional about something. So yeah.

Just take Nukes advice and learn from this and if your friend says that there isn't anything you can do and don't worry about it, just tell him that if he thinks of something to let you know.

i know its not truly pertinent, but to help give advice, can we get an example of why this item was important, even if its not a direct correlation

It's hard to replace anything of personal value. It must have some sort of family or fatherly sort of sentiment. Obviously, getting something to replace it isnt going to work. But if you tell me what it is or something LIKE it, maybe we can get something else close to it and have someone from the family give it to him again. Granted, if the person has passed on, then there's not much you can do. But maybe they had some sort of interest... like favorite baseball player, etc. You can get him a collectable card from when they were young or something. I cant help unless I know specifically.


Anywho, friendships are hard to come by for sure. But the older you get, the more you will learn to STOP PUNCHING THE CRAP OUTTA EACH OTHER & TAKE IT OUTSIDE DAMNIT!!!! lol jk But seriously, at least you guys are cool again right?

yeah, we are cool, but theres still that weirdness of just having had a huge bump in the road. Hopefully all will be cool after march break, as we are going to another buds place and we are partying our asses off. The item that was damaged was something givin to him, and it was the only thing that one person ever gave him that had any feeling to it, and wasn't just a gift, it was something from the heart. Long story behind it all, but I was going to give him something of mine he knows means alot to me, and with it I was also gonna do what any man patching a relationship with his bud would do and givem a case of beer with it.
