what tire? (help!)

so it's time to get rid of the stockers. what tires do you guys recommend? I think im gonna get 225/40's to put on the stockers so later on I can put them on the rims I want... when I can afford them. The wheels I would be getting are 18x8. I am looking for decent preforming tires and long lasting, comfort would also be a plus. this is a DD. so far i've looked at FALKEN ZIEX ZE-912 and KUMHO ECSTA SPT.

The SPTs are an excellent DD performance tire. They'll last 20-25k miles if you don't burn out constantly, and the grip is fantastic for a tire in that price range (about $125/tire).

I'd get the SPT's over the Ziex's anyday.

Are you going with all-season simply because you want to get some good mileage out of them? I see you live in hawaii so snow isn't a problem for you most likely. I have the Sumitomo HTR ZIII's and although they're strictly a summer tire, I expect to get at least 25 - 30 thousand miles on them. $105 a peice on tire rack when I got them.

EDIT - just noticed the kumho's are a summer tire, oopsie!

Get HANKOOK VENTUS V12 EVOs!!! I've had mine for a few months now and love them! You would not regret getting these tires. Even thou they are summer tires, they have Superb dry traction and Great wet traction. They should last longer than stockers, one of the best treadware ratings for summer tires! You wont get the preformance out of all-season tires like you would these.
