So I got out of my car today to let it idle for awhile. Went to check to see how hot the intercooler was. Went back in to shut it off, and when I turn the wheel my exhaust gets noticably louder. Not crazy loud but noticeable. I checked this out further. Evertime I turned the wheel the engine would reve just a tad. Is this normal. It kinda weirded me out.

When you turn the wheel, the power steering pump saps a bit of the engine's power requiring it to rev just a bit to maintain idle.

^ what he said. does the same thing on my MZR. it's normal.

This is normal in pretty much any car. The only difference with the ms3 is the exhaust note is noticeably louder when it happens.

I noticed it from day one it even does it when the I turn on the A/C

Don't worry...It's normal...

When you turn the wheel, the ECU will offset the increased load of the power steering pump by applying a bit more throttle (to keep constant engine RPM).

yea its normal. i just love the sound of the exhaust when i turn the wheel.
