2003.5 MSP
So im at a point were im having trouble decided what the best upgrade would be for me to do next. i know that upgrading from the Stock Manifold is good and that exhaust is a huge thing as well for a MSP. the only thing with the exhuast is that the cops are crazy around here and the last car i had with aftermarket exhaust i got 3 tickets, so is there an exhuast that is not to loud? what do you think of going with an upgraded mid-pipe somthing like what SLS performance offers. the other thing im thinking about is getting a Wideband ARF gauge. at this point im really thinking either Mani or Exhaust. what do you guys think i should do and what manufacturer should i go with? thanks

next step should be exhaust. the stock exhaust mani isn't all that bad except for the cracks. lol
whether you should go up to a full 3" exhaust depends on your goals.
The corksport 2.5" exhaust is a great set-up. My catless 3" perrin can wake the dead.
Maybe all you need is a midpipe matted to the stock cat back....
If you check my channel on youtube: zuku26 I posted vids of my different exhaust set-ups so you can here what I had. my catless apexR1 midpipe was great mated to the stock cat back. you could feel the better air flow and still sounded stock just a step deeper.

Like zuku said, I'd go with the mani, and exh. But with your problems with the cops, just shoot for a mild exh. I have the 3" corksport power series, and it to can wake the dead when you get on it. The manifold on the other hand is always a plus to upgrade. I wouldn't worry about the af gauge until you get some other mods installed. Don't get me wrong, it is a "needed" part for tuning and keeping your car in "safe" limits.

I second the corksport 2.5". If their can is too loud (for me it was with officers) you can use the stock MSP muffler section with it. Thats what i did, its quiet and much less restrictive than stock. The MSP muffler section piping is larger than the rest of the piping so you dont have to worry about chokeing it.

awesome guys, looks like ill be after an exhaust for the next mod, and ill stick with the stock mani for now unless it cracks. so now its off to the classifieds.

Just leave the stock muffler on. I have a 2.5" exhaust from the downpipe back and it sounds just like stock with the factory muffler.

I switched over to a catless MAM midpipe and it did wake the exhaust up a little, but not enough to grab attention from cops, and DEFINITELY made a difference in how the car responds.

so im starting to think a upgraded midpipe may be the way to go, best bang for your buck. does MAM still make a catless midpipe? were can i get my hands on one? SLS performance makes one, anyone have an opinion good or bad? anyone have a used one for sale?

MAM hasn't made anything for our cars for a LONG time. SLS is the only one I'm aware of that you can buy new unless you buy a full system.

there are a couple in the FS section, but some people don't like shipping things like that.

there is some one on ebay selling catless midpipes for really cheap. I'm not sure on the quality first hand but some on here have picked them up and been happy. It's really just a straight pipe with flanges on each end so how can you really screw that up!!.
But you can order the SLS through Protegegarage.

i saw those on ebay, i little hesitant to buy off of ebay but if people have already bought and have been happy thats a good thing. i think they were $100 which is a good deal. would rather have the cat though. thanks for lookin out.
