I was at light and this dude with blue Si with a nice tint job and a turbo was revin........each time he revd he made that sound.....kind of like the Eclipse did in F&F. What exactly makes that sound. Sounds wicked when revin...
The BOV usualy work only when you release the throttle on boost like when you are shifting. Mine doen't make any sound only when I rev. The boost don't come on when reving... unless you rev realy high!!!
My bad guys.......I mean't the sound comes as soon as he eases of revin his engine....kind of like there is a flute or some kind of tube that releases the air. But not like a quick release of air as in the BOV. (Which usually you have to be revvin high and there is a release). You got to watch the movie to know what I am talking about....which I am sure most of you have. But it has been a while.
Lots of BOV's only make an audible sound when the engine is under load like Stou earlier stated. But some BOV's will easily vent off when just slightly reving the engine at idle. Mine does this, I can barely get on the gas and it will sound off to let everyone know what evil force lurks under my hood.
The Greddy type S (Thats mine) and the HKS super sequential do this. Other BOV's like apexi, blits and turboXS only blow off when under load, shifting gears.
By the way...............the BOV that was in the F&F was a Greddy S, I read in a mag somewhere that they recorded the sound off of another car and transfered it onto the eclipse, cuz that car was not turbo...just faked for the movie.
Thanks for the insight guys....I was looking at a couple of import racing magazines which show the new wings west kit on our car with a SC ...is it all show and no go??...any news on that??
