What have you done to your P5 today?

so how bad are seized rear calipers? I mean I can still break mostly fine except when I really hit it... and then it just feels a little light in the back end. how much is it to have these refurbished or anybody got some cheap for sale?

Had my spare tyre put on the rim I busted the tyre on last weekend, after much confusion with the Tyre shop, firstly said my Peugeot was still on the hoist, then comes back and says wrong customer, and then tells me I busted the rim! :eek: He then started talking about a Subaru Impreza, then realises I am the one that brought my own rim & tyre in!! Talk about a heart attack!!!

Here is the old tyre, dunno how I managed to do this :confused:

Also purchased half a dozen microfibre polishing cloths, and removed my old & worn "Need for Mazdaspeed - Most Wanted" chrome decals off the rear hatch windows.

Tomorrow im going to be washing & polishing the car (weather permitting) and putting my Team Pro5 decals on :D
 
Matt, you're not going to turn into one of those Miata guys who comes in here and bashes Proteges are ya?

I got the new seats, picked up some wind/rain window deflectors from eBay, a front radiator diversion plate, painted my calipers black (it's all in my build thread) and drove it to a wedding last night. Someone stopped me and asked "What kind of car is this, a BMW?". Haha! That's the third time I've heard that.
 
Just checking, brotha! Your P5 was so crispy clean I'm sad to see it go. Plus all the great How-To's and clear pics you made for everyone. Hopefully someone will buy it and become a member on here and I can see what plans they have for it. Good luck with the Miata, mate. (No sarcasm there)

Marc- it almost looks like the inside of the tire was rubbing a spring perch or something. I'd check your suspension and make sure your other wheels are clearing everything.

The close up shot (where the rubbing is) is from when I had to wobble 50-60 meters to get to the closest street to safely change the tyre...

But thats the thing, I have had no scrubbing issues at all, all tyres have the same tread wear and its all aligned, think its just coming down to a poorly made tyre, as they are cheap taiwanese tyres... im considering selling them and going back to 16's, prolly 2010 NC MX5 16x7" wheels :)
 
my brother had the same thing happen to his tire, just blew out for no reason, looked exactly how your tire looks too, minus the rub marks

and today i slammed the P5 :) cut the spring perch off the strut so the GC coilover sleeve is sitting directly on the weld
hopefully i can still get out of the driveway lol

Wow- well those cheap tires are kinda scary then. Good thing they didn't go ka-blewy when you were on a freeway or anything. I really like the way your car looks with those wheels, but I know the bigger the wheel, the more expensive the tire...

replaced my rear rotors and pads this morning. driving a car where the brakes arent warped is very awkward, havnt had that in a while.

wanted to paint the calipers at the same time but was in kind of a rush so ill do them another day. trying to find the tranny fill plug on my sisters altima right now so i can finish off that project but it is eluding me right now. bah!
 
got an oil change and considering exhausts again (once i get the money) it's a tie between vibrant and jic at the moment
