What have you done to your P5 today?

+1 for Pennzoil Platinum.. I was a Mobile1 guy until I did some research.. at one time Mobile1 was good, then they redid their formula to make it cheaper.. now it's not nearly as good as the Plat...

Same here. I used to use all Mobil1. Now it's just overpriced for no reason...
 
I still use Moble 1 $25 for a 5 qt at Walmart.

Oil cooler working good. no leaks. =)

Just waiting for my project to come in so I can start the build.
 
10 mins for me, i cut the egr off :) lol

but right now im halfway through the install of my 12" slimline fan, did everything right this time, mounted directly on the radiator, and now im taking a break...its 98 outside lol
still have to wire up my adjustable temp. fan control and then try it out, im going to set it to kick the fan on right at about 190-ish

I would set it @ 185 (so it will come on just before it's @ full load/temp) if you can.
 
well see, thats the hard part, since the controller is just a knob that you turn to raise or lower the temp it kicks on at, i really have no idea what temperature its at

Ahhhh. You have a temp gauge? Typical running temp (fs-de w/ boost) while rolling is 190. So you can try to just use that as a benchmark and try to set it to come on just before that... I guess trial & error will work... Just might take a few trips, lol. Where is the knob/controller located? Inside the cabin hopefully?
 
well i can mount it anywhere really, i was just gonna mount it right by the coolant overflow is but it seems like mounting it inside would make more sense lol

edit: nvm it has to be in the engine bay...the temp prob only has a length of wire like 5 ft and i cant cut it

O, that sucks. Well w/ trial and error it shouldn't take more than a few trips to get it right where you want it...
 
maybe try a lazer thermometer? like find out what temp your cars running on a hose when the the whatever kicks on at 190* then adjust the knob to set it lower using the thermometer? just my $.02

its set at 160 right now, its adjustable from 160-220, so should it have kicked on or not? cuz i dont want to wait and have my car overheat
 


Got my new tire's today will install them over the weekend and will also install my new fmic and pull the bottom grill off again so I can show off my bling.Been running strong with the turbo kit no regret's at all.
 
Got my pro-kit installed today. And it'll get an alignment tomorrow, but I won't be able to drive it till Monday since I'm leaving to go camping tonight.

well maybe, depends on how hot the engine got, maybe it only got to 159* lol
 
How long does it take to remove the intake manifold?

It took me a long while... I did it alone, and I'm 2 the "sub-novice" level. I was at it for much longer than an hour though..
 
yea well...the fan still hasnt kicked on after some spirited driving, so im just gonna take the temp control off and run the fan off the factory connection until i can get some more wire and wire it up like i want it to see if its the controller or the wires

but car drives great, EGR is unplugged, but i reset the ECU and have yet to get a CEL :D
