What have you done to your Mazda6 today?

yey, ventpod ftw. Im still super bummed that the CP-E dashhawk ventmount group buy/production fell through. :(

It was a good idea, but CP-e didn't want to execute the product like I thought they would. I eventually gave up after several dead ended e-mail conversations.

What size do you have on your rx8 wheels? Are you lowered? I'm not sure if I wanna do 235 or 225 on mine. 215 is certainly too narrow. And 235 may or may not rub on stock height. I would like to lower some day though!QUOTE=jdw1;5416765]I'd be interested in load rating and the point of that also T.

Another question, how much quieter and what kind of sound do you get from a resonator? Mines too loud and the DP is prob going on Fri, prob be louder even though it sounds good, real good actually I'm a lil too old for that loud.[/QUOTE]

I run 225/40's

if you go with an MS6 on ANY offset different than stock, you WILL need a rear fender roll.

this includes the rx8 wheels on 225/40's.
doesnt sound like jdw1 is lowered.

No, not lowered, it takes bumps hard enough with the lo pro tires. You don't need any bigger than 225 on our cars w/AWD.

Can any one give me info on that resonator question?

?:
To remove the fogs, do I need to pull the entire front bumper off?
The PO had a bulb blow and just left crap inside there, so one bulb is a different color/tint than the other one.
There's no how to.
Thanks in advance.

yea, but 225/40 tires are too short, and are on the narrow side for 8"+ wheels

indeed. hard bumps are the sacrifice we pay for lowered rides.
but i LOVE how it handles on teh track, night n day difference.

as for the resonator question, its hard to say HOW it will change in terms of tone.
Every custom setup, and combination of piping is different, but it will be guaranteed to quiet it down a bit.

Yup, the space is way too tight to change bulbs & disconnect otherwise... at least it seems to me.
bumper removal is easy, once you get it off its all straightfoward from there.

you shouldnt have to take off the bumper... you can get the driver side from the top (easy) and the pass side from the bottom, i learned how to snake my hand around, and i have big hands

srsly? i struggled forever to try and wedge the bulbs out of there with no luck.
i couldnt pull the bulbs straight out there was something in the way.

maybe it was the WAY i was taking em out, couldnt see to well down therr.
by all means try it w/o bumper removal, would make life easier.

Isn't 225/40 the rx8's normal tire size? I worry mostly about the 2.2% smaller part... That seems like a lot

yes, but the stock MS6 wheel runs 225/40 all the time too.
running em right now.

didnt seem much different to me than 235s.

a 225/40 tire is much shorter than a 215/45 or 235/40 tire, less sidewall also adds to a harsher less comfortable ride, your speedometer will read high, and your odometer will count up in miles faster. (im thikning an extra 2mi every hr @ an indicated 60mph)

235/40 is very close in height to the stock 215/45 tire... i run a 235/40 tire on 18x8 +35 wheels

that's why I want the 235/40. however I can't get a straight answer if they will rub or not without a fender roll at stock height. I plan on lowering someday, but probably not this year, and hopefully then I'd have access to a fender roller. 235/40 on an 18x8 +50mm will stick out .6" further than stock and be .2" closer to the suspension.

then again in the tire size for the tire I want, the load rating is 91 isntead of 92, but 1356lb per tire is more than enough to support the curb weight (~3700lbs) plus the max allowed load as per the door jamb sticker (850lb). But tungsten6 says otherwise?

Went and bought a new dimmer switch from the dealer today since I think I fried the other one on the radio install. None of my interior button lights work and the instrument cluster is bright at night but wont dim. $116 later.

Got word my new wheels have been refinished, going to pick them up tomorrow. Won't be able to put them on for a few days so the paint can cure. I'll post pictures once they are on.

Took her to the dealer today to get rid of the crunch sound that I get when I shift gears, guy didn't seem to care that I changed the tranny fluid to Red Line as far as warranty goes, I find out tomorrow what's going on.
