What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

Thank you for confirming. Does it seem convenient to use? I like the idea of having that option.

Holy s***, thats a hell of a mark up for the 2012+ models! I remember I paid under $50 for mine. Its double the price, that is BS. http://www.jimellismazdaparts.com/p...&ukey_driveline=0&isOnSale=0&searchTerm=liner

There appear to be some differences but thats still a big jump in price for minor differences. 0000-8K-L06 if that link doesn't work.

Found it for $39 http://www.buyourmazdaparts.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=228

Oh wow. Thanks for the link! I could really use one of those.

Last weekend- tore apart the driver's side sliding door to replace the exterior door handle. LOADS of fun- you have to rip the entire thing apart from the inside with about 4 inches of clearance since you can't swing the door out. Pics taken, but not as many as I should have since I was in a rush- writeup incoming in the near future.

I've had that cover for both my first gen and now my 2012. They are different and the old style will absolutely won't install to the new 2012+ style. The old style slides into the back part of the seat backs as opposed to the new style that slides completely over the entire top part of the seat back. So in a sense I believe the new style will fit the first gen MZ5 but not the other way around. The new style also comes with a bumper guard that folds and stores into that pocket on the left side of the cover. When you use it it velcros to the end edge of the cover and drops down enough to cover the bumper to keep it safe from scratches when loading something into the cargo area. The old style didn't have this feature. I've had it for a year now and I've yet to use it.

Yep the cover is stored in that pouch on the drivers side. It velcroes onto the edge of the liner.

And that's where the extra cost probably comes from. I know my 09 cover doesn't have any such bumper cover. I would've loved that since my bumper is absolutely trashed.

thanks for this! Cuz I was about to order the old style just to test it out...(freak)

I didn't know they changed the mounting method, oops! MR6, do you have the bumper guard? That covers the bumper from damage pretty well when loading.

Me and my Dad took some measurements a few months ago and the next time he came up to visit, he brought me this platform to go around the seat. This is for the dog to lay on when traveling with the back full of stuff.

I installed the Summer tires, roof rack, cargo box, new 2nd row power port and MS3 rear sway bar for the trip! Disney here we come!

Did you do a how-to for the second row power port? Right now, I have my daughter's Gamecube plugged into the back. GPS and radar are in front.

I didn't but its so easy its barely worth doing one. I got the idea from another forum user who did the same install so I just copied him. On 08+ 5's there is an access cover behind the parking brake that is big enough for an outlet. I bought an outlet at radio shack and used a stepped drill bit to make the hole. Then I fished the wires through the console and tied them into the existing lighter circuit. The YMMV part? If you drive with the seat all the way back, you can't plug in anything very tall. Drilling the hole closer to the brake would give you more clearance for bigger plugs but could interfere with the armrest when the seat isn't all the way back. I may look for another option in the future but this was about 20 minutes and you can get a new access door for very cheap and make it disappear. Even if I keep this location, I will order another port like the factory one so it's a color match with a hinged door as well! If others want a write up, I will put one together. I dont like cables everywhere so I have my radar hard wired from the mirror now.

Installed some rally armor basic mudflaps, took a drive and i guess i out them too low cause they scraped everywhere...ended up taking them off. $20 and two hours gone.

Changed all three wiper blades. Who knows when I'll use them since I live in drought stricken Southern California.

This is brilliant! One reason I want to build my subwoofer enclosure to fit tightly between the seats and to sit flush and flat with them while folded, is to keep my poor dogs from falling into the hole between the seats when they want to move between rows!

Washed her and made her pose with my Elise
