What have you done to your CX-9 today?

Got to take a break from moving in and finally give it a much deserved wash. Now to clean out the garbage in the garage so I can get back to working on mods

Finally took a short day trip up to Wyoming with just 1200 miles on the odometer. It was around 400 miles round trip. The CX-9 did great, plenty of passing power on the highway, great handling on curvy roads. Gas mileage was in the mid 20's in the 70-85mph range(80mph speed limits here). Still getting use to the drivers seat, not enough thigh support for my 6ft1 frame. Probably will get better as the seat breaks in. But the miles pass quickly with the composed ride and quiet interior.

Did the front brakes on my 2018 touring. Rears another day. Raybestos Element3 pads and rotors. Paid $250 shipped for all 4 corners from Rockauto. Supposed to be bite better than ceramics. Sil-Glyde on the slide bolts and Permatex ceramic grease on the shims/ears. Brake torque specs: slide bolts 65 ft-lb, caliper bracket 75 ft-lb.

In case anyone is wondering, the Quickjack BL-5000SLX barely fits the CX9. It works but took some tinkering to line everything up. Ideally you want the extended model (5000EXT i think?) or the add-on extensions for the 5000SLX. I use it for my Corvette so figured I would try it on the Mazda.

Nice, sounds like you're treating the car well! Hope it returns the favour with another 250k (y)

I also tried out my new torque wrench. I was definitely over-tightening all of my lugs before 😅

So far so good I got my fingers and toes crossed because I Love this SUV if it ever broke down I would turn around and buy another reliability like this is something every automotive manufacturer should strive to achieve

Got this damage fixed. An old dude in CRV backed up when my wife was driving by. At least no hiccups with insurance (Geico) and no excessive wait on parts.

Installed a Fortin EVO-One in my (NTM) 2018 CX-9. I followed this video by pitchpoleFPV and it went very smoothly. The main module, THAR-MAZ3 harness, and the FlashLink 4 as a group were just under $175, shipped. The install went very smoothly, the hardest part being some of the terminology in the FlashLink Manager about the alarm choice and all, but thanks to reading the threads here I was ready for it. Glad to have this in place as the outside temps get colder.

Did an oil change and took an oil sample. Weather and time permitting, I hope to do the spark plugs within the next few days. Maybe I'll take some photos for a quick DIY, haven't done one of those in a while.

Got my spider-cracked CMU display replaced by Mazda in my (NTM) 2018 CX-9 GT today.
Photos and deets here for those interested. Super chuffed about this as the cracks were getting worse with the onset of colder weather.

Another day, another change. Received my USB hub and cables to upgrade 2018 CX-9 GT to Carplay. Gotta be honest, it wasn't a very fun install. Pain in the ass actually. Nothing went wrong, just a lot of small spaces and maddening fishing exercises. Firmware upgrade was the easiest part of the job. Also put in some leads for the UART serial connection to the CMU using pins stolen from this harness. Anyway, went for a drive tonight after finishing it, really happy to have Apple Carplay working on a non-cracked screen, in time for a 300 mile drive I have planned on Wednesday. Tomorrow: snow tires!

Not my picture, but I took it from someone from a cx9 facebook group. Figured I post in here because its one of the most active. But man that front lip really completes the look. I asked him what kind of front lip it was, but he just said it was a universal one that he made to custom fit. He also has other custom parts done do his engine bay. Just thought I share, since theres not much aero parts for the cx-9. Hopefully the Owner of the car chimes in. lol

That is Jose Javier Rivera, moderator of the Mazda CX9 Club FB page. Not sure if he is on this forum.
