My 2004 3s started to get a crack in the dash board right by the little sensor so I took it to the dealer and they ordered a new dash and had it for a week to put it in and today i picked it up and there is this awful sound that comes into the car as I accelerate like as though were no insulation blocking engine noise and going down the freeway it sounds like a window is open. It sucks! Do Mazda mechanics know what they are doing? Has anyone ever heard of something like this before?

take it back, everyone makes mistakes. Just think about how doctors forget their tools inside of people, now ask yourself if a mechanic can make a similar mistake on your car.

lol yeah take it back mechanics forget stuff all the time its usually the reason people start to hate brand x is becuase the mechanics/service writers... honestly i had such a bad experience with the service writer where i bought my car that i have never been back and told them so... they didn't give a s*** as they are a porsche/audi/vw/mazda dealer... so i was the bottom of the barrel to them.

Yeah take it back. Also look for local forums and talk to other owners about where they take their cars.

I'm going to next Tuesday. The only problem is I have to drive for an hour just to get the car to the shop. Last time I went there I told them there was a rattle in the door and they said they would fix it. Did they? No. They said they couldn't hear it when they drove it. I just hope they can actually fix my car this time and not make up more excuses.

When taking the car to a dealership you have to always account for Murphy's law, "When a broken appliance is demonstrated to a repair man it will always work properly."

Thats a silly question. Of course the mechanics don't know what they're doing.

(evil) Stealership. There's a rattle in the passenger door and when I went to the dealer to get this checked, all they did was put 20 miles on it and said it is fixed.
Remedy? Apparently they lubed the locks. The rattle is still there.
