Hey guys, just wondering what octane fuel you all use? I've had the car for a bit over a week now, and im super happy with it. Gas mileage is way better than the 2000 Maxima Se i had before. I currently put in regular gas and i've gotten 480km and the gas light JUST went on. Anyone notice improvements with high octage fuel?

Thanks a lot
Joey

use 87 octane. the vehicle is meant to run on 87 so there is no need to do higher. the benefits of running higher octane is miniscule @ best and not worth the extra few dollars @ the pump.

There will be NO benefits for running higher octane gas, unless you enjoy decreased gas mileage and decreased weight in your wallet....

some VP Motorsport 100 or Sunoco 260 GT
if you want to spend a few extra bucks and that lovely smell (shady)

otherwise a quality brand 87 is what i run in mine

wow so if you put higher grade octane your mileage actually goes down. I would have thought it would have been the other way around. Strange, to me anyway.

Your car is not "tuned" to burn higher octane. So a lot is wasted due poor combustion....

hahahaha octane does not equal gas mileage. Contrary to popular believe, increasing octane is not always a good thing.

i run 93 octane in mine. (boostd) so with the cost of gas goin up i pay about $3.20 gallon, i fill up about once every couple months from Oct. thur April. during the good weather once every 2 to 3 weeks.

I run 85. But that's because the higher altitude in Denver doesn't require the same octane level as lower altitudes. Octane requirements decrease as you increase your altitude.

I am putting 89 in mine, but that was due to people saying I need to do that since I have longer reach spark plugs in mine. I am thinking of going back to 87 though.....

I have the same plugs and have never used anything but 87. The only things you can do to your car to require higher octane than 87 is the MP3 ECU and turboing it.
