what do you think of this set up

considering most turbo setups alone are 1400 upwards (couple kits FS for 1100-1400 here on the boards) and the hiboost being 2500 for the "budget" setup, you can't go wrong with 1000 bux for an entire motor + turbo , allows you to have a spare to rip parts off of when the turbo'd motor starts throwing rods and the like.

So if you got another mazda would that mean the SRT-4 would go bye bye? (looks like an SRT4, correct me if my eyes decieve me)

thats our friends srt-4. Ill either get another mazda if i can find one cheap enough to build up or ill just buy an sti or evo.

I would love to buy an MP5 for cheap and i already found a mazdaspeed 3 motor for cheap i can use. Its just the head aches and money into fabbing that im kinda scared of.

Note: the MS3 engine is completely different than the MP5's as well as apparently being an electrical NIGHTMARE. It'd be more prudent to keep the 2.0 FSDE, building it, and pumping high levels of boost into it. theres been a few that ive read about pushing 300WHP+ .

Guarantee you if you are patient enough you can find:

MSP turbo
MSP exhaust manifold
MSP s/j pipes
MSP ECU
IC setup
Lines/etc

For just about $1000 if you are patient enough. Just check the F/S Section. However, as mentioned, if the motor you're looking at includes all that and the block, head, etc. then definitely go with that route. If not, you are not going to see any performance increase with a MSP block. I guess I just have a hard time believing you can get the block, head and all turbo stuff for just over $1000. Not to mention you are going to need some sort of intercooler setup. Just my $0.02 and trust me, I know all about this MSP swap stuff. :D

be on the look out, i'll be selling all that except for the ECU and the IC setup

I let my girl drive this one

Wow if that girl can already drive, we're in trouble when she grows up!!!(rofl2)

you gotta start them off young.
- Begin with a turbo fwd
- advance to a rwd silvia
- then to a rally car
- possibly a baja truck
- finally the ultimate. JEEP CRAWLER!!!!!!!!!!

Ultimate Jeep Crawler? You want a Jeep? I actually sold my Jeep to get my Protege. hehe. I agree with the Silvia and rally car and baha truck! I would love to have those in my garage!! Drift, drift in the dirt, and launch your truck in the air!! Crawling got boring to me. But, maybe cause I live in FL and there is nothing to crawl on.

i live in northern california and live like 3 hours from the rubicon, also i live like 3 hrs from hollister, and 1.5 hrs from a nice place in sacramento to crawl. I had a jeep too and sold it when i had my daughter and miss it now.

My dream set up would be to have a evo or sti, jeep, and a bagged chevy dually or ford dually to haul the crawler and possibly any other project cars.

Now if I lived that close to the Rubicon, I'd never have gotten rid of my Jeep. I do miss it. It was a Cherokee with 7 inches of lift, ARB bull bar in front with about 300 watts of lighting, solid steel bumper and spare tire carrier, snorkle, roof rack, 33" tires and a kickin stereo.

Now I'm driving in something I would normally have rather drive over than drive. lol

How things change.
