I just say I drive a protege. People are like. "what where's the Rx? You sold it for a Protege? Then I point at it and people are like Hey, nice car! On a Side note I once went through a McDonalds restruante in my Rx and the guy at the window said hey nice Integra.

And the Saturn ION Redline. That thing is not very impressive when reading the specs, and it will definetly not be faster than a SRT-4, and it MIGHT be faster than a stock MSP depending on driver. Hit any curves and bye bye ION

My window sticker said 2003 Mazdaspeed.

It does say protege on the back and is built on the protege chassis and shares most parts.

Just wondering what you tell other people.

If I owned one I would call it a MSP. Most Mazdas have a "M" Name

Mx-6, Mx-3, MSP, MP5, MP3, Mx-5...

I say it's a Mazdaspeed Protege... and then everybody just looks at you. I say: it's the factory hot rod version of the protege. And they say "Oh", and look disinterested. Unless they know what it is, and then they say: "Sweet! Can I see/ ride in/drive it?"

i too had a guy at a McD's window admire my car. He asked what it was I said MSP he said oh, cool, it's nice. I said thanks and off I went. I am guessing he was the owner of the black Focus SVT backed in, in the parking lot.

MYPfizzle, LOL! Had a similar experience...

I usually say "oh just a little Mazda" with a gleam in my eye and a smile/sneer on my lip... People who know me know that there's ALWAYS more to what I'm driving.

I had a female colleage see me get out of the car in the garage and SHE bragged on my car to 3 other people!
"You oughta see what HE drives..."
"oh it's just a little Mazda..." (gleam, wink, sneer, smile)
"No it's not, you should see the (sub/wheels/interior/radio/paintjob...etc.)"

So why am I thinking of selling and getting a 1981 turbo VW cabrio? Why? This MSP is a GREAT car!

Mazdaspeed Protege most of the people who recognize it are either driving Spec-V or eclipse turbo. Everyone with the eclipse turbo's say "Crank up the boost in that thing I'm running 18 psi no problem etc..." I say hmmmmm...

I really don't care if other people notice it is different. It amuses me and is hella fun.
