What do you folks use on the black plastic trim

Hi folks

Just had the cx 5 for a week or so and I'd like to put something on that black plastic dash trim to protest it from scratches. It also seems to attract dirt by holding a static charge if you clean it with a micro fibre cloth. Some ideas I've had are Turtle wax ice or maybe 303. I like the gloss black but want to keep it from getting scratched up if possible. Any thoughts/experience.

Thanks

I am a fan of turtle wax ice. I have been using it on my black Ford Expedition, white Ford Mustang, and all the associated black plastic trim for the past 5 years. The black plastic trim still looks new. Very easy to apply and remove.

I used 303 before wrapping it. 303 left some residue making it not shiny. But protection-wise, it is good for UV but not scratches. You might want to wrap it with clear protection film or something.

I use a plastic cleaner called Plexus. Available at most motorcycle shops. A bit spendy but it works great on lexan type materials and shiny trim.

Thanks for the tips! I used ice on the outside to give it some protection. The paint was in excellent shape and had never seen a buffer. It may seem strange to say that about a new car but the last car I bought had been buffed by the dealers detail shop for whatever reason and was full of swirl marks. The Ice went on easy and seems to bead well. I think I'll try it on the shiny plastic trim. I've used 303 before and it does seem to last quite well on inside surfaces. It does have that awful Armor All like smell though. I've got a set of Weathertech floor liners coming and if UPS is on time they should be here tomorrow. Just in time, as the weather here has turned into the rainy season with rain forecast for the next 4 or 5 days.
