What difference's is there between 05 and 06 Mazda 3 GT?

I had my 05 Mazda 3 GS totalled about 2 weeks ago, now I have recieved a cheque from my insurance and I am looking to buy either a 05 GT or an 06 GT. I wanted to know the difference's between them? From what I have looked around I haven't foud much of a difference. I want to puck up an automatic this time (i had the 5 spd) does the 06 auto tranny have the 5 speed transmisstion? or is it still the 4 speed? From what I have found, it sounds like the 06 has the 5 speed automatic. I just wanted to confirm this and find out what other difference's there maybe. Thanks.

the 06 has a 5 speed auto, has auto climate control, auto wipers, auto lights, heated seats
05 doesn't have those (except for the sp23 which has all of those but the climate control and 5 speed auto)

if you don't mind the minor issues that the 06s had relating to the updated systems (which are easily fixable by the dealer under warranty), then go for it
OTOH, the 06s does have a better axle design and basically means the drivetrain is more reliable... the 06s also lost a couple of hp for emissions reasons but it did get its ignition system upgraded to be more reliable

thanx for the reply. I ended up just buying the 05 GT, I live in Edmonton Alberta and the car is in Surrey BC, but in the price shown they are shipping the car to me. I think its a good deal, atleast it is in Alberta, Canada. Check it out and let me know what you guys think. Thanks.

Nice, fully loaded it looks like you got a pretty decent deal.
I hope they made a mistake on your engine size, pretty sure that's a GT GFX sedan with a 2.3L

my wife and i have an 07 3s with all the bells and whistles and honestly we could not be happier with it. great little car.

Olestra, ya they did make a mistake on the website.. its a 2.3L.(that was my first question to the salesman) The price I bought it for was $18,900 +GST CAD. Aswell they are throwing in shipping which cost's $500.00.
