What did you pay for your CX-5?

I'm going to buy a 2016.5 AWD Touring (standard, no extras) and the best price I can get so far is $26,000 flat for a total of $27,800 after taxes etc. (I live in suburban Philadelphia.) I've asked around and this seems like the best price out there - about $700 below invoice.
Should I pull the trigger or wait for the holidays and hope there's an incentive offered? (I'm not a Mazda owner so no loyalty discount and no other discounts available.) Was hoping to get closer to $25K but perhaps am dreaming...

Thanks for any input!
Just an idea, but sometimes I have seen where going to an upgrade like perhaps in your case, going to the "Touring ++Bose/Moonroof" will net you the same OTD price if the dealer has more of that model to sell.

Another thing to look at on the dealer inventory is the STOCK#. Observe the stock numbers for a variety of vehicles at that dealership, and get an idea of the spread from the lowest stock# to the highest stock# you see. Then you can perhaps find an older stock# for a vehicle that meets your needs. Get to the dealer at the last week of a quarter, find that old stock#, get some freebies added at the end, and wring your hands together and do an evil laugh...(wiggle)

Lauren ... Got a dark blue touring fwd with Bose system for 23911/-
Out of door 25800 in TX.
Good luck to you.

Recently quoted $28,400 + TTL in the Bay Area for a 2016.5 AWD GT (with roof racks and a cargo cover).

What does everyone think??

What all is included in that price?

So far the best price that I've been able to get in Chicagoland via e-mail. (no trade no financing no Mazdas in the family yet)

$27,919 CX-5 base GT AWD in Titanium.
$900 destination fee
$2,089.38 (7.25% sales tax)
$168 doc fee
$25 ERT fee (whatever that is)
$15 Cook county tax
$120 transfer plates

$31,236.38 out the door

this is for a straight GT AWD right ? no LED headlight/tailight, no tech package (city brake, lane departure, etc) ....

are you planning to keep the car for more than 3 years? what is dealer offering for 7yr/100K extended warranty?

do you need remote start for winter, DO NOT get the mobile start app, it takes way too long, have to log into slow app everytime.

get the standalone remote one (just be forewarned though, the remote start fob is huge, I just leave it at home to start in the mornings)

also try to get freebies, I got all these (~$400 worth) for free: cargo tray, retracting cargo cover, all weather mats, wheel locks.

Yeah, it's for the straight GT AWD. I normally do keep my cars for more than 3 years and I didn't ask about the extended warranty. I normally skip the extended warranties as I do all my own maintenance and work.

No remote start needed since I have an insulated garage.

I will of course squeeze the dealer a bit near the end and get some of those freebies. Thanks!

that's a pretty good deal, are you financing @0.9% for 5 years ? also did you get $500 Mazda loyalty discount

What all is included in that price?

That's with 0% finance for 60 months (not a prior Mazda owner, unfortunately!), the car comes with roof racks and a cargo pull out cover - no tech package. You think we can push for additional options thrown in? What do you use at leverage?

Your discount is 7.7% (assuming no Red / White color) - Car MSRP 30770. There is room for improvement - though if you are finding hard to get this color combination and running out of time, it is not bad.
Things you can use for leverage:
1. Shop with this quote to see if anyone can beat it.
2. Throw cash down
3. If you do your own maintenance - you can't bargain for this. Otherwise you may get service free. Some folks have gotten 2 years maint. incl. for free.
4. Discount on accessories you need - I drive in City and have cargo Tray only. I recommend that - not sure about other accessories but they seem to be good quality.

As far as GT goes - its tough to say - just like no one is dropping price for CX-9 signature the GTs seem to be selling well. I have seen 13-14% discount on this thread but do not recollect the Trims, my own number for a Touring was 12.23% discount.

If you have time shop around or wait till end of month - if you do this be sure to have 3-4 dealers working with you. If more than one gets you the best price go to the one that has your color in stock.

Edit: Mazda ownership has zero effect on price since it is a dealership model. It may mean less haggling but loyalty bonus owners may or maynot get the best price. If Mazda dealer knows you can buy a Rogue / Rav4 etc. he knows he is competing outside his circle of dealers.

Would you mind breaking that price down for me? Was that price with or without any incentives? I'm in the process of negotiating with several area dealers and it would be a help to me to see the details of your purchase.

Thanks!

I'm looking at the same exact configuration here in San Francisco, and got offered $30,960 + tax/dmv, maybe I can do better...

I'm pretty much set on a CX-5, but not sure if I should wait it out for a 2017/2018

MSRP $33,625 (There are some dealer installed features, such as Window Tint, Door Edge Trim, Pinstripes, Paint Sealant. But I didn't count these into the MSRP). Selling price was $30036.13, then less $500 rebate, which I didn't know what it was. The final price is $29536.13. Tax was 6.25% ($1846.01). The rest were Title, documents, etc.

that's a great deal with the LED lights and I-active package, what did they offer for extended warranty, with those expensive LED headlights and I-Active components, might be a good idea to consider if you plan to keep it more than 3years/36,000 miles.

To my surprise, the dealer did not mention any extended warranty. Actually they did not even try to sell me anything.

Thanks for the info. Your dealer tinted windows that were already tinted from the factory? I think that the pinstripes are factory too.

There is a label besides window sticker mentioned these dealer installed options and charge fees (ridiculously high). Since dealer didn't charge me these options, I didn't ask what did they actually do.

Nothing comes tinted from factory, there are privacy glass but the front two windows are excluded (cause in some states you cannot tint those)
He can easily roll down his windows and if he sees the edge of the tint - they are tinted.
Tints if any are done in mass for cheap at dealerships - not saying its cheap quality its a small addon for dealer but a good sell in states like TX.

I would be more curious on Paint Sealant since CX-5 are known to have a thinnish layer. You can buy extended warranty later as well - much cheaper than from dealer.

You're correct, all the windows rear of the front seats have privacy glass, not to be confused with a tint.

I've been negotiating with nearly all of the Mazda dealers in my area via e-mail. It's amazing the lies I get told by some of the 'small town' dealers who can't/won't compete with the big boys. I can understand that but don't flat out lie to me. One such dealership, who doesn't have the CX-5 I'm looking for on their lot, told me that there are only five 2016.5 CX-5 GT titanium w/black interior and no options in the entire area. They can get one for me at a 'price'. I've already checked the Mazda website and I know which dealers have my car in stock and which don't. The 'big city' dealer who gave me the best quote so far has 8 on their lot! If you're going to lie to me at least make it a lie that is not so easy to check up on...
