I am ready to buy a new suspension setup for my 08 MS3 and i am highly disapointed in to lack of 300+ spring rates for shock/spring or coilover setup. The only one that i have found is the KW Varient 2's.

Anyway, does anyone run high spring rates or know of any setups with 300+ rates?

Thanks.

tein ss for the reguler 3 340 390
Had them on my old car before it got totaled by two trucks.
They worked realy well; i think they are stiff enough for the speed 3,
with the stock sway bars probably being just right. I looked at other kits
for the speed and they all seemed to be on soft side. They seem to be tuned for stiff swaybars. Japanese companys tend to just up the spring rates instead. There's benifits to both I suppose. When the snow melts this spring I will find out if they work as well on the wild child as they did on my old car.
Can't wait till the snow is gone!(canada)

That is the coilover, right? I was hoping to run the new Koni shocks with a spring rate around what the Teins, that you mentioned, are.

I'm guessing that i will have to run a coilover...oh well... :-)

Yes they are 16 way adjustable coilovers. If you are like me and love corners more than anything when it comes to driving, ciolovers are worth the extra coin. Also the adjustability makes a world of difference. At full soft it feels like a crown vic floating down the road, kind of Disconcerting. at near full hard it feels solid ready to attack corners. In the middle feels great on twisty back roads with less than ideal surfaces. also understeer/ oversteer can be ajusted by front to back damping settings as well as ride hieght. Oh ya the MOST important benifet corner wieght adjustment. I would say coilovers are worth it, You get alot of benifets per dollar. Our cars hanle really well stock even with a very soft spring rate. If I were not run teins, i would try cobbs suspension kit. They report that our dampers just need to be paired with thier springs. The dampers are good with a little stiffer spring. that would probably be a good choice if cost is a concern.

yeah, its not really about the cost, but i would like to run some Konis one day...but it looks like it wont be with this car. I was looking at the KW Variant 2's but i am not sure about them... as i dont know anyone who runs KW.

So, i guess that the decision is between the KW's and the Tein's....for now...
