So,

She's Finally arrived.! An Island girl now!

I used Pasha hawaii, and she got here in one piece. Good to have my car here, and while i'm thankful for my buddy's 02 automatic civic he let me use....i sure did miss my p5.

Now I have to get the insurance switched over, and new plates etc.

So, any input about which mazda dealership is the 'go to' one here? I actually had a pretty good relationship with one back in San Antonio from buying my oil filters from them. . .

Also, already had a headlight go on me. I've an HID set back 'home' in San Antonio just waiting to be installed. . .would those be subjected to RECON here?

(the white p5 with tx plates tooling around aiea/pearl city)

FYI, Cutter is owned by the Linda Dingle family. She's a Cutter.

And yeah...what 808P5 said. Some of what is on there has changed.

Really I didnt know that. lol Linda Dingle...lol hmm go with JN and pay the ridiculous mark up lol

wet okole seat covers

Well,

Since my p5 is entering her beach going phase of life, I was thinking of looking at some waterproof seat covers.

I've heard of wet okole, I think they've received positive reviews from my friends, and they seem pretty proud of them price wise.

Anyone have them on their p5? Hows the fit? Any input for alternatives to consider?

So far, my anti-sand all over the place technique is a boars hair brush i keep in the trunk to brush off my feet, etc.

(ounce of prevention, pound of cure)

It's pricey but good. Gotta bring car down so they can take measurements. (Some guys no even take measurements) Come back 4-6 weeks so they can install it.

We go beach at least once a week. One car has and other car has cheapy WalFart kine. Both are fine.

So, looks like I may be heading back off-island

Hey Folks,

So the economy finally caught up to me, and looks like I may be leaving the island back to San Antonio.

I may even have to leave my car. (sadbanana) Not sure yet though. I cant believe I may have to sell it....weather i leave it for a friend to handle the politics of that, or just pull up to some used car dealer and get them to give me a price, or lemon lot on base. .

She's a 2003, white P5 with just shy of 100k miles. (96K?) Anyhow a few things:

1.) Obviously private sales are always better, but anyone want to ball park a price guess if i were to just sell it to some dealership here? (i've never done such a thing, cant believe i'm contemplating this).

2.) Before i were to sell it, and if I knew I was definitely doing so, I'd like to give you guys a shot at some of the mods I did. I never did anything major, but I'd like to remove and swap some things.

a) A racing beat exhaust.- it's in good shape, bought it from here, or either a guy on ebay, forgot which. (that guy moved from p5 to a new gto , when they were new). Again, swap for stock exhaust plus whatever cash we'd haggle.

b) I have an mp3 ECM in there. Yes you'd need to pump premium. Ideally i'd swap your regular p5 ecm for the mp3 one plus whattever cash we haggle.

c) I've a aux-mod in the stock radio, so that i can plug in the ipod. Works great. You just plus aux and your in mp3 mode. I ran the headphone cord out through the ashtray area so i keep it coiled up in there when not in use.

d) have a mazda six wiper on the back if anyone would be interested.

I know the details are still fuzzy, and theres no pics, this isnt an official for sale thread. . etc. Like i said, not *certain* i'll leave her here, but it's definitely a consideration I'm making. And i just envision showing up at one of the hawaii meetups and doing all the swaps. :) I know you folks are decently active on here.

Anyhow, sorry for the wall of text. If I do have to sell 'er i'm thinking of a older used miata back in SA. who knows..

Shoots,

Jason

Bump,

and just wanted to add I have brushed DaveB rings and a B&M short shifter too...i just thought the shifter would be a pain, the rings are a cinch to remove though.
