We're all a bunch of magazine racer wh0res

Sure, we all have our little issues with our rides, but let's face it, we all bought the car for the same reasons. Incredible handling, value, looks, and functionality.

I also hear everyone comparing it to other car's. However, most people like myself read the magazines. Every review I read about the MSP is incredible. How come none of the reviews complain and moan as much as we do?

Last week I re-read a review of the car and I was proud to be an MSP owner; then when I come on this site I read a bunch of people complaining.

I wonder what we'd all be saying if we owned the Focus or Neon? Perhaps we'd be wishing we owned the MSP. In all of the cars I've owned (quite a lot), every forum runs into it's nag period. I think the few blown engines that have recently popped up have really got people's spirit's down. Unfortunately, I don't think anyone or the collective group can put together any real logic on why some blew and others have not. I think people who are blowing engines might be mis-representing themselves, or stating untrue facts in case Mazda-USA reads the site.

Let's all pray for a good fuel management system and a good 2004 for the MSP!

That's why I make it a habit to periodically go back to when I first posted on here before I got my car.. Makes me feel so proud about what I've accomplished.

Either that or just go out and wash it. Good quality time with the car you love is like no other feeling...

I love the car, yes mazda dropped the ball on some issues, but not enough to tarnish how I feel about the car. It's always a great feeling when people with cars that cost 10s of grands more are interested in the car and ask questions about it at the gas station or in the parking lot.

I didn't buy a MSP because I wanted one. It actually was the only car my wife would let me buy. We just bought a house and was the only car in are price range that I would settle for. Its actually the first FF car I have ever owned and it has surpassed my expectations. I think its good that we all as MSP owners stepped away from the HP hungry, 1/4 mile import scene and bought a well balanced car that is truly a great street car and if most MSP owners got into autocross or touge they would see the true potential of their cars.

Remeber straightaways are for fast cars but, corners are for fast drivers!

Yup I love my speed as well. Although I've only owned it 3 weeks my first autocross is this coming weekend. Wish me luck btw. It is a great streetcar for the price and I couldnt be happier. When I want to go fast in a straight line I'll just hop in my (hopefully) soon to be completed drag car.

i love my car too... its gorgeous, handles like a dream (in the non-snow weather of course that is, lol), and is just plain fun to drive.

Only a ricer would want a new fuel management system.

**** man. i try!
i even made a passenger side floor board pop out the other night, still only comes out to 1/8th of a mile.

this sux.

hehe, it was nice and sunny out today :D

washed my car, and took some pics :)

I think a bunch of people are popping their motors lately because they didn't turn boost down for the winter.

Cooler air is denser...so the same PSI level is two completely different amounts of air at summer & winter temps.

People need to read Maximum Boost by Corky Bell!

^^^ Not only that, but common sense and physics could have told you that much.

Abuse it and you will lose it! You can blow a motor under stock conditions if you beat the thing hard enough. Add boost and it dies that much faster. Moderation in all things is the key. :)

I'm pumped up about my car. All of these boards have a major complaint component- not just this board, but the others as well- focaljet, vwvortex and so on.

I'm glad the couple of flaws in the MSP that have turned up to date have been very minor in nature. Many competing cars have common issues that are much worse.

sometimes during a 10 min test drive is hard to get a true feeling for the car. I did not realize the car had some many little issues until after a few days of driving it.
