Went by the dealer today and on Monday I'll be picking it up.

Don't know the production number yet but its a Yellow MP3 w/ 24850 miles.

yeah I'm looking forward to it. price before tax etc. is $12,422. The car is in great condition as far as I have been able to tell. There was a little shimmy dealer aggreed to take care of it. Also one part of the dash had a bad paint job which the dealer already has the part ordered to replace it.

Uuumm... I'm not trying to brag but I purchased mine for $12,500 with 18,000 miles on it and it is in mint condition other than a few curb rashes on the RH's. And I think that was near the resale value a little over a year ago. Is it me or does that seem to be a tad bit of a steep price?!

Probably because its yellow... I can't remember how many where sold in yellow but it wasn't a lot.

Nice purchase!

1000 were blue, 500 were yellow.

"Originally planned as a release of only 1000 cars, initial response resulted in the final production run being increased to 1500 units. The first 1000 units were delivered to the dealerships with the blue color scheme shown here, the remaining 500 were delivered in the fall of 2001 in a vivid yellow scheme."

Just FYI

Gotta side with Ryan here. On the rare occasion i DO see an mp3, it's almost NEVER yellow.

didnt they have some issue with the vivid yellow paint and had to paint the rest blue or something?(dunno)

btw march 16th of 03 i paid $13,300 for my blue mp3 bone stock in mint condition with 19,500 miles.

Congrats! What area are you from? There is one for sale at a used car lot in Arlington, Texas right now.

That's funny, because I usually see Yellow ones when I'm out and about, but back in Wisconsin there were two blues, and now a yellow, so I guess, but the "logic" seems a little flawed there Dana!

Do we know of anyone on the forum with a production number over 1000 that is blue?

Anyway, congrats. . .love my car. . .and even with all the frustration that turbocharging it brought, I still wouldn't want to get rid of it. . .

I'm impartial to blue though, but that is just me!

Congrats on the purchase!!! Hell I guess that I am lucky I have seen 2 other Blue MP3's and 3 yellow ones in my area. None the less I believe that there was less than 500 yelows but Hell I dont really know. Congrats again.

500 is incorrect.. just look at our very own mp3 registry http://www.mazdamp3.com/vbb230/show...1423#post871423... you can plainly see that ALL the cars from 1- 1000 were blue, and roughly half (ok, 62%) of cars 1000-1500 are yellow

there are certainly not 500 yellow mp3s

hmm, as rare as they are i saw one yesterday at hooters in irving, the guy says he just bought the car. Was that you zerv?

I thought there were only 250??? This is what I was told by several dealerships when I bought mine new. Mine is #1361
