Weight of stock 16" alloys?

'03 Protege ES
I was messin' around on the Tire Rack this morning and comparing some wheel weights, etc. Anyone happen to know what the OEM 16" alloys on the '03 ES weigh in at? I'm wondering how they compare to what I was looking at this morning. Also, they're six inches wide, right?

Less than that, more like 16-17 lbs. My tires are 19 lbs and weigh 36 lbs on the stock wheels. Not heavy at all, and pretty good considering they're so durable.

It depends. The chrome ones are around 22-24 due to the chrome plating. The mate silver are around 19-21 pounds. They are super heavy for 16's.

This is funny because our cars didn't even come with chrome wheels, only a polished finish which weighed the same as the painted version.

Yea they call them polished but it is actually a chrome plating. You can crack the plating off.
No, they are not chrome plated. I sanded mine down and painted them a couple of weeks ago. Everything you have said so far in this thread is total BS.

Ah Kiss my ass Trevor. :) I know what I saw. And I don't care what you say. They are heavier. Go weigh them.
Hehe, well...

The 36 lbs is for sure, the weight of the tires may be a few ounces less than the rated 19.0 on falken's site since they have a couple thousand miles on them but still you're way off man... just trying to stand up for the poor skinny wheels that get no love :p

my polished 02 wheels weighed right at 16lbs. i shipped them two at a time and the boxes weighed ~32lbs each at the post office.

When I was borrowing OGskaters wheels I had them weighed and they came out to 19-22 pounds. None of them were the same but they weighed around there.

I guess non of them are the same. But I don't know about 16 pounds. Thats what the 17" Subzeros weigh and the p5 rims feel a hell of a lot heavier.

yeah so the width is 6 inches?? would i be able to squeeze a 205 width tire on them? i need new tires and the goodyear tripletread skinniest tire is 205.

You can easily fit a 205. A tight fit would be a 215 but if you get it in a 50 series it will fit. My 17's subzeros where 16 pounds and were a lot lighter than the stock wheels. My new 16 subs are 14 pounds and I could only tell a slight difference between the 17" version.

I just put a fresh set of skins on 205/50/16 Kuhmo Ecsta AST - only been on one day so not much time on them yet - What I did notice : ride is a little smoother (less harsh) speedo is off by a little bit(no biggie) and they are a little louder at 30-50mph than the stock Dunlops. I had 41k on the "Lops" and they were FRIED ! But sticky !

Maybe you guys are both right? There were two stock rim styles for the P5 (see attached photos)--clarify which you mean.
