Weak cooling fan or do I need two??

Well a while back I switched from a corksport all aluminum radiator to just a regular protege radiator, it holds it's own by keeping my car cool and running smooth but my a/c is never ice cold only when I'm on the highway. If I'm in stop and go traffic the a/c gets a little warmer than what it was when I'm on the highway, I used the same fan from the upgraded radiator but don't know where it's from as the previous owner did the setup. Should I just put another fan or just get a single one that's stronger. Any help and advice is appreciated, thanks!!!

Do you have an FMIC? After installing the front mount and slim fans on my car the A/C would get hot after sitting still like you say and even now with a larger 14" and 12" A/C fan it still gets warmer after sitting still for a minute.

The Corksport radiator is so thick you need OEM or a brand name ie spal etc. to properly cool........any off brand slim fan is usually garbage

Yeah I have a FMIC I guess that's why I didn't bother looking that up until now. So my next question is if I do wanna run 2 fans to see if it helps how do I do that?

I didn't really like the corksport radiator for this car. It's so heavy I mean I still have it I could probably just get it repaired but neh.

You can only run 2 fans unless you mount a pusher on the front, one primary and one A/C. You can get the Mishimoto slim fan and shroud setup, it would likely fit the CS rad if it is made to fit the stock fan mounting locations.

I know, I'm only running one fan on my radiator and want to run two, but I need to know where the plug is for the second fan

Ha! This might sound random or weird but I was going to clean the back of the plug for the a/c switch numbers so I could try to get my 2 and 3 to come on so that's what's I did I cleaned it with a q-tip asporyl alcohol, to my suprise there was quite a bit of dirt on the plugs. So I did that and after that I put everything back together and went to test drive it. Well I didn't get the number 2 to come on but I did the 3...for a day at lease -___- but what is weird is that ever since I cleaned the back of it my car stays cooler when I come to stop and go traffic ha so weird but I'll take it

i was thinking about getting some mini solar panel and attach 2 or 3 120mm 5v computer fan to it.

leaving the solar panel above the windshield behind the rear view mirror or behind rear seats

the fan would sit somewhere behind front bumper above the FMIC

might need to water proof the fan tho

Okay I got a slim fan from autozone and it has the same plug as my other fan, my question is should there be two plugs like that or am I gonna have to run it off one plug??

So nvm, I had bought the fan only to find out I actually have 2 fans and they are both spals so I decided just to return the fan, but guess I have to keep researching about how to fix my a/c problems in stop and go traffic

Maybe you missed my earlier post

I'm not trying to cool down my radiator properly it already does that with the two spal fans on a stock protege radiator, all I wanna know is how I can keep my a/c cold at all times, cause sometimes in stop and go traffic it's gets a little warmer and I have already filled the system with freon and there's no signs of any leaks my a/c is cold while I'm driving

You're not pulling enough volume across the condenser. You're heatsoaking it from the FMIC.

Oh wow I would have never guessed, is there anyway to prevent this or cause less heatsoak?

Remove the FMIC, move away from Texas. Get a daily with a good ac? Unfortunately there isn't a lot you can do, I hardly use the AC at all in my car after installing the front mount.

Ohh okay well I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't the only one it was happening too, I usually don't use my a/c much personally only when I have my gf riding with me, I was thinking about getting some heat shields for my aluminum piping see if that'll take some of the heat away, from the engine bay. One of those evo hoods would be good for this car too ha.

I removed my condenser because of it. It didn't cool worth a **** anyway. And it's not my daily driver. Because racecar.

Yeah my a/c is cold as ice on the highway just not stop and go, oh well my gf is kinda used to it anyway lol. But having the FMIC does give it more HP right?

It doesn't necessarily make more power but it has a lower pressure loss than the stock SMIC so it runs slightly more boost and obviously doesn't heat soak nearly as quickly.
