I bought my msp used and have never brought it to the dealership. I have a intake and blitz dual tt. I was going to bring it to the dealership to get it flashed and to see if I can get the clunk in the back to stop. I was wondering if you think they will give me a hard time? I havent really ever talked to them so i am not sure how cool they are? Also how do you know if it is a mazdaspeed certified dealership. I live in central PA if anybody lives around here and know. Thanks.

no dont worry about its just an intake and tt theyll flash it for u and fix the clunk.
and to check if its a mazdaspeed certified STealership go to www.mazdausa.com enter ur zip code and look for the closest dealer it should say if its certified or not ..
what color did u buy ??

Thanks man. I have a black 2003. I see you have flashed your car. Did you notice any difference? Thanks agian for the info

If your car isn't flashed, and you don't like feeling bogged down and hesitant, you will love the car post flash. The flash is not a magical cure, but I am 100% satisfied that I had it done. My car would bog down and hesitate during both city and highway driving. It was a major pain in the ass!

Some people are still anti-flash, but I suspect that is the minority viewpoint. It definitely makes the car perform better.

I'm not flashed and since I turned up the boost and added a JoeP FCD I really don't have a problem with hesitation. Research before you get it flashed since you can't unflash. I'm not saying to not flash it just research what is best for you. I almost had mine flashed when I first bought my MSP. Do to a huge snow storm I cancelled the appointment and never got around to getting it flashed. Now I'm glad that I didn't. Not having the flash with upped boost is just a little more insurance against detonation.

I am running up to 14 psi of boost. The car is flashed and I have no detonation issues. My recently changed spark plugs confirmed that.

sorry to threadjack, how can you tell just from the spark plugs that you are having detonations. i'd just like to double check that i'm not harming my engine, if there are early signs that can be told by the spark plugs. thanx.

Pull out the spark plugs and if they have a grey or white crusty look to them then you're running too lean and detonation is or can occur.
