Wanting to know how to properly build a mazda 3

2007 Mazda 3
Ok, so I've been building cars my whole life, but haven't been into it for a long while. My fianc has a 4 Door Mazda 3 and we are upgrading cars for both of us, but I am going to keep this car and build it up for when her little brother turns 18. He will be attending UTI and is really into cars, so I have deal for him to keep going with school the way he is and I will give him this car for graduation.

Car is a completely stock 2007 Mazda 3 Sedan. What I want to do it is as follows, but I will leave it up to anyone here is has more knowledge than me in order to determine what's the best route:

Money isn't really an object, but of course it has to be realistic. This is meant to be a fast and efficient car with more power than looks for him.

- Convert to Speed Motor (Is it possible to keep the automatic transmission in the car or would it be wiser to convert that as well)
- Good suspension that really does the trick for a good ride (This will be a car he most likely travels to see in family as well, comfort as well as performance is key)
- Drop a good set of wheels on it. He likes all black wheels like I do, and he wants a little lip in the front and bigger in the back. That style of look, but something on the lighter side even if it costs a bit more.
- Exhaust I probably can have done in town no problem after everything else is done, this goes for piping, intercooler, etc...as well.
- What can a stock speed motor handle? Would it be wise to get a shortblock and head that can handle a bit more before swapping it in? Maybe someone can give me what it can make power wise and see.
- Would like to get away from the stock turbo and get into something a little more efficient. Maybe not something with a huge power gain, but a better all around turbo. Again if someone tells me the stock turbo is plenty and it meets our needs then that works as well.
- If the auto transmission could be kept, what are the weak links in it? I may look into doing a little bulletproofing on it before putting it in. Again, if the manual is all around the way to go, I will.
- Converting to 4 wheel disc. What would anyone recommend for a good kit to do this? Happy medium between performance and price.

Just want this car to pull a solid 13 or maybe dip into the 12's. If 12's is a nightmare without dropping an unrealistic amount of money into it then I wouldn't. We were altogether going to just sell the car and just have our two, but it'd be foolish not to have some fun when the car is paid off.

Thanks for any help, I really appreciate it.
