wanting a new muffler

:
2003.5 Black P5
I have a raven muffler, and it sounds really really nice in the city, but on the highway it droans so much, and after installing the headers, the droaning just got louder. Do any of you have a muffler that is quiet, but still sounds very deep and anti ricey? If you know of one please give me a link. thanx

someone mentioned a HKS muffler, but would I need the whole exhaust piping from HKS or can I just use the piping installed from my cat back and just weld the HKS muffler on?

Sounds weird, but I really like the tone of glasspacks. they're cheap (like $20-30) and easy to weld on. The longer the glasspack the quieter and deeper the tone. The loudness is proportional to throttle; at cruise on the highway it's a nice little rumble but get on it and not just the volume but the tone changes too. I like them a lot, had them on several vehicles. I haven't heard one on a 4-banger yet, but I had true duals on a v-8, so 4-cyl per glasspack, and it sounded great.
Whatever floats your boat. Personally, I'd be embarassed with a loud exhaust on the P5 since it's a slow car... loud cars should be fast, imho

I like the sound of my Mazdaspeed axle-back--but there are two, make sure you are getting the Racing Beat axle-back, not the one made by Borla. The RB version has no highway drone at all.

buy a real apex n1 muffler, you wont be disappointed...also pm moeed, i think thats what he has

just buy the good stuff now rather than the cheap crap, because when it craps out, youll just end up buying the good stuff, so skip the money wasting "buy cheap crap" step

Get a long resonator, it should eliminate a good percentage of highway drone.

Yeah, that's a little too big. If you like the sound of yours already, keep it and add a resonator, it'll make highway driving so much more bearable.
