Hey all,

I am looking for OEM foglights, or at least a substitution that will go in the lower grille like OEM. OEM foglights are over $200, so I am looking for something cheaper, if possible. Anyone here have any for sale?

This is what I have:

I would like foglights like this:

I checked the FS section but didn't find any. I also checked eBay, but the keywords in the different searches didn't produce any results, either.

Please help! I'd be so grateful. (bow)

Thanks!!

send 'em over!

Pay for the shipping and there all yours. I think it looks better without them, if u don't have fogs. I had to take my aftermarket fogs off cause they didn't pass inspection. Va is tuff!

Why didn't they pass inspection? I just moved to VA near D.C., and my Honda has fogs.

VA is rediculous with inspections. If you have fog lights, they have to work or you fail inspection. Never mind that foglights are totally optional, and in no way required to be on the car, if they are on the car, they get inspected. Such bulls***.

I also heard of someone who's car pre-dated seatbelts, who had added some belts from some sort of airplane. He failed for having non-DOT-approved belts, and was able to pass by taking them out, thus having NO belts at all! Safety inspection, huh? Really...

Oh, by the way, I have a set of OEM fogs, with switch, I'll sell for $100 plus shipping. Or, if you can wait a few weeks, I'll be in NoVA and can bring 'em to you, no charge! I'll get pictures up (or not) as soon as I figure out if my digital camera is working (thus, the "or not").

Well, here's the picture. Apparently, my digicam only works outside, 'cause everthing I try to shoot inside comes out blurry as hell. But, as you can see, they are stock fogs, with wires, and the switch. My understanding is that everything else you need is already in the car. I never got around to installing these, and have sold my sedan.

inspection

I just did my inspection on my Honda after sending the message, and guess what... I passed! I did it in Arlington at a rinky dink gas station, and the guys there were way cool. I have fogs, and one of them is busted from towing it here from Chicago, too.

Ironically, I just bought a house on the other side of the border in MD, so now I need to get an inspection there, too. <sigh> I agree with inspections, but to pay them to inspect my vehicle??? Ridiculous. It was always free in IL. And they only check your emissions. But that crap they did to you & your friend is just stupid. I read on this forum that the HIDs I'm putting in the Protege may not pass inspection. Now I'm worried about that. Maybe I need to find a rinky dink gas station with way cool guys again. (cool)

As far as the fogs, I think I may wait now. I am in between jobs now (voluntarily) and dropped a load of $ on HIDs and other stuff (black Friday shopping!). Not to mention I'll be traveling to China until mid-January. (rei) How about we do this when I return? I mainly want them, since I use my headlights during the day for others to see me - like DRLs. HIDs won't be that effective in the sunlight. And even if they were, I won't use them as much, since the bulbs are $100+ a pop as opposed to -$20 when they burn out. I imagine you'll still have the fogs then, right?

Thanks!

That's cool. I can wait, I guess.

I also had an inspector at a shop in VA tell me my Miata headlights were mis-aligned, and that I'd fail inspection, but he could fix them for $45, and I'd pass. I was pretty sure they were fine, and I knew I could aim them myself if they weren't, so I called his bluff and told him to go ahead and fail the car, since it's only ONE dollar to re-inspect. I asked him which one was off, and in which direction, and told him I'd go fix it my self and come on back. He said "you're going to fix it?" I said "yep", he said, "well, I'll just pass you then, so you don't have to come back. You're sure you're going to fix it?" I said, "yeah" and he sent me on my way.

The next year, with no adjustments ever made, the car passed inspection juuuust fine. I knew the inspector working on my car and asked him about my lights, he said they were perfect, confirming my suspicion that the guy the previous year was just trying to make an extra 45 bucks. Ass!

Damn, dude! Are these all at the same location? An ass indeed! He was trying to give it to you hard & dry. (butthump) Great job on the way you handled it. I wonder how it is when females go there.

Nah, different places. I heard about the seatbelt thing from my dad, I think. The Miata thing happened at a Sunoco in Alexandria. The look on the guy's face when I told him to fail me was great!

I mean VA or should i say Northern Va is really tuff about mods. I've been pulled over once because the cops said my exhaust was too loud? But then a Harley or a Chopper pass's me and in can't even hear my stereo? He didn't pass me because he said my lights were not DOT certified? But your right, it all depends on where you take the car. If u go to an old gas station that looks like its been there since 1910 then u got a pretty good chance of passing. When i was in school, and lived in Blacksburg all the guy did was check your lights and honk the horn LOL
