Wanna race a Festiva???

That is SWEET! I would love to creep up to any turbo civic, then just own them, and to see the look on their face after they realize they just got beat by a Festiva. lol!

well there is one thing that is for SURE....at top speed, that thing is a handfull!! the shorter the wheelbase...the squirlier it gets.....had a buddy that had something like that but it was a MGB, and another with a Vega.....

haha cool! i heard that the Ford Festiva's were the same as the Mazda Demio? is this true?

Very cool...I like when people try not so "mainstream" projects like that...also how its appearance is fairly stock...at least from a distance....until you see those baloneys in the rear!

Those tires are super fat. I'm suprised that car isn't faster than a 12.8 tho...

Its probably a pain to try to get it to hook up right off the line. That's probably why the times aren't as fast as they could be...

I heard a story about a little AMC Gremlin that was painted green. It was called "The Frog" because every launch it would jump about six inches off the ground before it would go. All four wheels in the air

And there is always this classic...the 12 second minivan.

That looks like the Mini-van that went to the first GRM Challenge...Mini-Me...

I'm in love..lol...that is so cool...the feeling of victory must be magnified a million times when you kick ass in a mini-van Vs say any other fast car. 12 second range...very impressive

If I am not mistaken, I read about a festiva that had a 1st gen Taurus SHO engine swapped like the one posted above. I think it ran ~12's as well. I imagine, like Nuke said, that this car is hard as hell to drive. I drove an old E-type jag a few years ago that had a roots type eaton mounted on a horrendously built 5.0 (302) engine. It would move like crazy under heavy power, and it was bigger than that festiva... That would make such a bad ass sleeper though. :)

Yeah when you think about it, a 12 second car on the streets is going to be beating or giving one heck of a challenge to like 99% of the vehicles out there. There may be faster on occassion but I'd think those are pretty rare times that you'd get wasted.

If I had to corksport anything it'd be a Kia...

A 12 second 'stiva? Anything under 20 seconds in that car would scare the piss outta me! I drove one last year for about 4 months until I blew a bearing. I bought it for $450. It paid for itself in gas milage saved versus my t-bird. I rallied the brea-stiva under some high tension power lines near my house which was hellasillyfun. I've seen some G'ed out Festivas rolling around Chicago on them huge 13s. (I'm pretty sure that those beaters had 11s stock). That was the best throwaway car...

Hi have a buddy that lives in Orange County Cal that has a '67 VW bug that is a TOTAL sleeper and kicks major ass....of course if you get close to it you MIGHT notice the 5 point rollcage inside....and if you don't....and you THINK you are going to take him....all you get to see is the back of that bug......he runs Mid 12's at the strip with it all day long......the only real draw back to it is he has to fill it up with gas out of the DRUM at the shop!!! lol
