VW R32 or Aspec RSX type S

sorry but i think rsxs are a waste of money, esp. the a-spec(no offense to any rsxers). get the r32. better yet tell ur gf to think about other cars. hell, if she's pushing 30k, go for a 350z base model. oh and honestly, who cares if ur gf has a faster car. just means u get to drive it too :)

R32 sucks. For 30K an EVO for me pleese (attn)
The RSX is lacking in performance from the factory. The A spec package is just a waste of money. It still doesnt have a LSD does it? But it is a girls car after all I guess.

well, even though it has less power, I'd get the RSX because everyone & thier mother makes parts for Honda engines....and they're probably the most reliable engines on the market to date (IMO)...R32 is sweet, no doubt, but it's still a VW, and reliablity is questionable (there's the naysayers & the lovers of VW's but everyone I know that's owned a VW has had to sink a ton of $$ into it).

The R32 is a much more refined car than the RSX.

The R32 also has all-wheel drive. The interior is nice and the car look good.

stock rsx type s ~24k out the door
high 14 1/4 mile
$140 for cai
$600 for hondata reflash ecu
low 14 1/4 mile with no decrease in driveability, emissions or gas mileage (dealer won't notice either)

They are definatle not high 14's in the 1/4 mile stock. They only pull low 15's.

R32 all the way. Anyone seen the Twin Turbo R32? That car is insane! 0-60 in 3 seconds...

you're all dumb hell bent on factory performance. Rating a car on factory performance is like rating a tire on parking lot driving. Unless she is drag racing professionally jesus stop talking about these couple cars and look at the market, First off...

The R32 is fast.. but is otherwise as appealing as a used douche rag. The RSX at least has a gorgeous interior and the Honda/Acura reliability.

Then again RSX's are the new integra and will be everywhere. Your girlfriend obviously has some cash on hand.. so consider the following.

1. 350Z - More horse than either of the above.. and FAR nicer inside and out. I'd kill for a Z style interior.

2. Finance an RX8 - they are a bit above the tag but s***.. you get the rotary beast.. a rare car.. and you also get IMHO the best interior setup available.

3. WRX STi - 31k tag.. give or take depending on a dealer 2k. Better than the Evo... better interior than an Evo... and less common than Evo's. the 04' STi is sexy as hell.

4. Audi TT 180 Coupe - rare, very sexy car... any girl should love these.

5. Mazdaspeed miata - perfect for a girl.. and at 5'1 she'll fit the car well.

What? The Audi TT with 180 horse is the most common TT around. Unless I'm confused on what you are getting at. The 225 horsepower version is harder to come by, but if you are looking for a TT go with the new 3.2 liter variation.

And the RSX is lame.

...i don't know if you have ever even seen the R2 interior...but it is much better looking and quality than the RSX, my GTI has better looking interior than the RSX and mine is the standard version with leather......

the 350Z, yea its a great car, but honestly if a chick gets a car from the parents then it usually means she is not the best of drivers, a RWD car with that much performance at hand might not be the best thing....not only that but nissan paint loves to chip alot so unless you are going to bring it from the dealership to the painting shop and get a few more layers of clear coat just to protect it, i wouldn't bother....

RX-8 same deal, its RWD, i wouldn't bother with someone that doesn't have much RWD driving experience.....

STI/EVO as mentioned by you your self, unless she drag races then stop bothering with all these super high end cars.

the Audi TT has a few versions, the roadster with the 1.8T 180 HP with FWD only, the 1.8T with 225 AWD, 3.2L AWD with DSG tranny only and the convertables of all those versions....i would get the 225HP AWD version if i had a coice...

Mazda speed miata, well thats along with the rest of the RWD vehicles so i don't think i have to mention that part again.....

all in all this post was about 2 cars the R32 and the RSX and i say the R32 for its a better chick car, better saftey, and AWD for better traction (all points for the basics of getting this car, not on personal opinions of the car for those would go on for pages)

Yea the r32 is the right car for her she only 5'1, so a hatch would be perfect. But it would suck haveing my girl driving a faster car then me. So i really hope she gets the RSX
thats ok bro my ex has a low 12 second street driven fox body cobra stang. that just means u get to drive it.

Anyone talking smack about the R32 has obviously never seen one up close, or can't appreciate German style, substance and class. Brilliant car, and minus the few tenths btwn that and STI/EVO (STOCK NUMBERS), it's a nicer car - especially over ANY Mitsu product....as for the 350 interior, it's nice (my Mom has one and I drive it now and again), but none of the cars mentioned look as nice inside as the R32 (well, except maybe the TT of course)...

All depends on what you like!

R32 interior is really nice...I think it's a good car for her.

That article on VW Vortex is a good comparison between the R32, STi and the Evo.

And, it came out months before anyone else had it...

I'd definitely go r32 if I had the money. It's such a refined car with a great interior and awesome styling. Evo and STI have more power, but what do you sacrafice to get it? Evo 8 looks like crap compared to the past evos and the interior reminds me of a civic. STI isn't that bad looking, but the interior and seats are lacking. Plus, you gotta pay extra for a radio on the STI. :)
