VLIM or VTCS broke... and they want to replace the intake!?

i had ticking/clattering aug-06, replaced two rod bearings, same thing march-07, other two rod bearings went bad, mazda replaced engine under warranty, that was at 41,413 miles, all has been great with it ever since, i have 51,788 now...
