VG Shark Fin Removal.

Who knows how to get one of in a matter that would let me re-use it? It was put on kinda crooked. Not to noticeable but noticeable to me. And since I was the one that did it because I slipped when I was installing it it is really bugging me...lol. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

If you decide to take it off, you may need a new gasket from VG.

I would like to take it off just need to know how I would go about doing that with out messing up the paint job.

how is it it mounted? some sort of double sided tape or adhesive? im sure some fishing line would do the trick. same say everyone takes their side moldings and badges off. minimal risk, if any, to the paint and the fin

Yeah it is mounted with doubled sided 3M tape. Never thought about fishing line though. Thanks MS3.

I would use Dental floss, much for forgiving and will not burn the clear coat with the back and forth motion...just my 2 cents.

Or you can get a can of gum remover, spray it till it's frozen rock hard and just pop it off with a credit card.

no problem, a good another good trick to try is a little bit of silicon spray on the line to help it slide easier and keep it from snagging. just remember to throughly clean the area you are going to put the fin back on or it wont stick, obviously lol

Thanks guys for the advice. Now I just have to do it. I emailed VG to see if they sell just the gasket before I take it off. Just waiting for a reply.
