vacuum leak after corksport sri install

so i installed the corksport sri with turbo inlet and forge bpv version 2 over the weekend. both nice products.

when installing the intake i accidentally broke off one of the plastic vacuum nipples on the engine block. the one that connects to the top of the intake.

i tried to super glue it back on with no luck and eventually dropped the nipple into the vast darkness of the engine bay. my next genius move was to slice a small vertical opening in the rubber tube and slip it over the small boost solenoid thingy.

this worked, the tube is on, but there is obviously a leak coming from this now as the check engine light is on.

the car drove fine to work with all of the new magical turbo sounds and nothing seems to be off, but i need to know if there is aything i can do to solve this. can i "tee" into the other line directly next to it and plug the broken hole? is there some sort of part i can plug in the hole and still mount the tube on? like some sort of hollow bit?

any help would be appreciated.

anybody? is it safe to drive with a leaky hose on it for now? the cel seemed to be off when i took lunch, but who knows.

If the nipple is on the boost solenoid it is ok to drive. You do need to plug the other side at the turbo inlet pipe or you can get a lean off idle check engine code. Get it fixed right away.

thanks for a response derrick. the nipple broke off the boost solenoid. i tried to glue it back on with no luck. right now the hole on the solenoid is plugged and the check engine light turned off. i'm sure it's not fine though. what can happen now? should i still be driving it? does the vehicle just run lean?

would i be able to replace the solenoid myself? it looks like a couple wire connections and a 10mm bolt on the bottom?

Changing the solenoid is pretty easy, the 10mm headed nut, one plug and 2 vac lines are all of the connetions.

You should be fine with the solenoid venting but I really recommend getting it fixed as soon as you can. If the port on the turbo inlet pipe is open, ie not connected to the solenoid or plugged it can cause the engine to run lean which is probably the code you were getting.

thanks again derrick. i'm giving it a trial fix tomorrow and we'll see what happens.
