Vacum Hose ??

I just installed an AEM Shart Ram Intake. I relaced my old Ractive one, due to unhappiness with it's construction and look. My Ractive had a yellow silicon hose that lead from the intake to the engine.

The AEM came with no hose and said to use the stock one. I had a piece of red hose from a Hose Techniques kit and cut a piece to length.

My question is as follows: The Red hose is about 2/3 the diameter of the original/yellow hose. Will this decrease in diameter hurt my engin performance? The hose doesn't seem to collapse under load, nor does car performance seem to suffer under limited tests.

Any concrete technical knowledge on this subject?

Thanks

Dave

it will not hurt your engine. that tube is only a breather to relieve pressure in the crankcase. (it is routed to the intake to control atmospheric emissions.)

get rid of that hose, your putting hot air into your intake. Put a little filter on the crankcase breather fitting, and cap off the hole in the intake. You can get both parts at any auto parts house. :D

Ok. So just a little blow off valve or similar for that exhaust port from the engine? and then some kind of cap for the intake port. I'll start to look for those parts today. Any ideas on part names for the engine portion? I'll try and make a little cap for the intake portion.

Before I do this are we all agreed it won't hurt my engine? :) Not doubting your expertise, just want to make sure I'm ok :)

Thanks all.
