Underglow Opinions...

Hey everyone- I'm looking into making neon underglow one of my winter mods this year. Wondering what kind of opinions everyone has? I have the black mica 03 msp and so far every after market appearance mod I have is black so I was thinking of doing orange underglow to accent the seat stitching. Streetglow seems to have the best options for me, but I'm definately open to other ideas! I'm good with wiring so installation shouldn't be too complicated. Any reccomendations, tips, or advice would be greatly appreciated :)

bump.... has anyone here ever had underglow on a car before? i need opinions... cause if it going to look stupid i dont want to waste my money on it. Im just pretty much out of options for performance mods without voiding my warranty...

dont do underglow unless you want to be made fun of by other car kids.lol

lol whys that? keep in mind orange glow on a black car- completely nightshaded... stealth. plus, im going to get the package for under $100.

ive got orange underglow on m spicy msp. i like it, i think the only way u would get made fun of is if you mounted the bulbs to low and had massive bulb exposure. just go for the low profile glow look. i think you will like it. post pics if you end up going for it. good luck

Thats cool- especially on the spicy msp... what kit did you get? how difficult was the install?

and the t3 turbo required due to the different flange?? ;)

FWIW, i don't think most people on this forum are into the whole underglow thing.....

yea, its just an idea up in the air- wanted some opinions. I think my next performance mods will be hardpipes, fmic, and upgraded bov/bpb... not sure which ones to get though so that step hasnt gone too far.

man if you wanna do it then just do it. i like my underglow. my car is a show car but i like it on the streets too. check out my sig and see my underglow. i will post a couple pics more if you want

yea, for sure, that would be sweet.... how hard was the install?
Im not big on underglow but i think the orange would be damn clean on your black car. Ive installed streetglow kits and its not hard at all. Hardest part will be routing your wires. I installed some blue streetglow on my buddies black celica gts and its really clean.

Orange. I had red on my P5 LONG ago. Install is easy as hell, and it looked cool at the time, but I've since outgrown it. It gets old fast when u have it on your car.

Underglow neons are awesome if they're done right (mainly hiding the tubes from sight, so you only see the glow).

I love them! Looking to get a set of reds for my MSM.

im actually thinking about getting yellow underglow on my 03.5 titanimum MSP to match my stichin inside so more power to ya!

Yeah neons are nice when they are done right. They won't add any hp but it is your cash. And search teh forums. There are a ton of neon threads.

Underglows were cool when they came out..about 12 years ago..now they are pretty much just a tag for ricers.....If you want a "COOL" label..go ahead and install them.
I had a set..about 10 years ago when they were still very pricy and reletively new and still ...."COOL"

To each his own though...and if you do them..No bulb showing is a MUST!

Ok. being in your age range I went through the same phase. I installed some on my front and back, and it looked really good. but to do the side RITE you have to drill. and idk how you would feel about drilling into your car. Plus everyone has a different oppinion about them. i could help you with the install for the front and back cause i know the best spots. but the sides are a hit or miss. mainly you just DONT WANA SEE THE BULB. Do what i did and put neons inside under the dash and rear seats. I love the way they look at night and it adds to the interior at night majorly. just my opinion
