Hey everybody,

For those of you who have underbody neons installed, can you tell me what wires you have tapped off of for your install.

As far as mounting them, I have read that the metal lip on the underside of the car is the best place to mount.

TIA,

moeed

i got an idea, throw the neons in the garbage! can anyone actually think neons are good looking? the wern't even cool ten years ago when they came out

moron. they look damn good when you go to a night show or trying to bring attention to your car.

anyways, get neons with the little box and tap it straight to your battery. run the wire from the box to a switch inside the car through the firewall.

we attached my neons in the front to the plasitc piece under the front bumper, on the sides to the pinch weld, and in the rear above the exhaust. use zip ties for the side instead of the mounting brackets to hide the neon under the car well...otherwise the bulb will hang down further and youll be able to see it, which looks nasty and unprofessional.

if you need pics, i can take some of my install tommorrow morning for you.

Cool,

I talked to elemental about it cause i know he was there when you put yours on.

Hope to put mine in tommorrow.

Do you remember how long it took and did you have to drill?

Yup - tap it off the battery. Just don't forget to turn them off. Also, if you drill for any reason - make SURE there is nothing behind where you are drilling! Sounds simple enough - but f*ck it up, and you will be in some serious sh*t.

yes you have to drill. with three people it took about an hour.

Yep.. plenty of drilling.. I had shards of matthews car in my hair and eyes.. and my arm hurt from putting pressure at that angle.. damn that was fun :D

i appreciated it too. and we do need to meet up. somehow i managed to leave all your s*** at vics except one very large jack stand (hides)

No way, you still have a jackstand (laugh). Hey Matthew did the swicth panel hold up?

Moeed, did you get the ones with one transformer or the ones with built in transformers? If the first one, then once you screw the box to the car, that is ground, the power wire needs to run inside the cabin. Once inside run it to the blank panel in the dash next to the fog lamps, recomend using a Radio Shack push on switch (small and nice). The other end of the switch will go to the fuse box (behind) are some 12 awg wires and tap the white one with +12volts constant (cant remember might be red). Make sure the lead from the switch has a 10amp fuse at least.

Mine came with a transformer input for the 4 lights wires to go into. It came with a dc power looking connector and an ugly on off switch.

It also has an 8 amp fuse wired on it.

I bought a facotry fog light switch that replaced the blank in the lower left dash controls. I wired my neons to that.
