Under development MSP product line

They sell just the S-pipe but yes you do have do have it welded into your current system. Outlet design is arguable but we won't get into that.

It's a great piece in conjunction with their system. Not really compatible for those of us with a aftermarket mid-pipe, Perrin or Corksport exhaust. It's to those where the MAM DP will be benificial.

Because it is about $200 more expensive, requires modification to bolt to the stock mid-pipe location (which = more $$), and has separate paths.
werd! cant wait for this dp to come out

So this ("2.5" SS ceramic coated S-pipe/J-pipe replacement") will bolt directly from my turbo to my apex 2.5" DP, thereby making a true 2.5" path from turbo to muffler? (yes, I have a 2.5" cat back). If so, I am in!!

No, it will not bolt up to the apex DP. This is a S-pipe AND J-pipe replacement, all in one piece. You would be best off to sell your apex and pick up a Mental Addiction midpipe... Beau mentioned giving a discount to the people that buy the DP and midpipe from him. Check out the website to see the different midpipe options... link is in my sig.;)

I understand, thanks for the clarification!

alright really n00b question but when installing and s-pipe is there a lot to do besides just pretty much bolting it up. still young and naive and have never dealt with an exhaust yet so i was just curious.

There was talk amongst some of the GHL turbo-back owners that you can get the stock S-pipe off of the turbo by using a chisel and hammer to turn the impossible nut... but if you don't do that, then you will have to remove the turbo to get the S-pipe off. I am planning on doing it the "hard way" so I can re-torque all of the bolts from my manifold install.

Beau would u be able to add an electronic cut-out to the s-j pipe ? how much would it be? updates on the fmic plz. thanks

I would really put a cutout in the midpipe instead. thats awefully close in the s-pipe/downpipe. not a lot of room either...

besides if you cutout before the 2nd O2 you run the risk of a CEL

Wouldn't the whole point of a cut out be to bypass the Cat? which sits in front of the 2nd O2 sensor? I agree with putting the cut out in the midpipe, but before the cat and therefore O2 sensor seems to make more sense to me.

the point of a cutout is to bypass the stock exhaust so its quiet when closed, but powerful when open. not the sensors that allow your car to run properly.

now I admit that this wouldn't be a problem if you only opened it for short times, but if you were on a long road course, youd get a cel... unless you get a MIL eliminator.

We're in agreement then, because I was thinking the cutout is something that I'd want to use at the strip or track... and would have to either deal with the CEL or like you said get an MIL eliminator...

u dont have to buy a MIL . i would just get spark plug non fouler, its VERY easy to install and costs 4 dollars. thats what im using right now and the CEL went away in 50 miles. theres a thread about that if ur not familiar with this setup.
so u think the cut out should be right after the flex pipe ?

i just got the first package of the FMIC the next and last one will be shipped next week . I got the core ,all the pipes (including the SRI pipe) except for one small pipe that has the BOV flange. and also got the HKS ssqv. the powder coating looks really nice. i went with the black. the welds are very clean. cant wait to get the next package next week. ill probably be the first MSP with the MAM fmic other then the prototype.. but then again Rich installs everything within 1 hour of receiving his kit.

do u guys think its rice to just mount the core on the car for now ? haha

Not rice if you just want to see how it mounts up and get part of the install out of the way... but a waste of time IMHO. Taking off the bumper cover doesn't take THAT long, but it still takes awhile and I personally wouldn't want to do it twice for one FMIC install.
