Undecided: Speed6 vs WRX (not STI)

If you're thinking of the new WRX, head over to their forums and take a look at it first - for me it was a BIG disappointment in the looks dept..

First of all take the IS250 off your list. Its a good looking car but its a DOG! and its overpriced for what you get which is pretty much RWD, a sterring wheel and a shifter.

Since you mentioned comfort I'll put it in this order:

1.MS6
2.MS3
3.WRX
4.EVO

just went to the stealership to check out the mazdaspeed3. I've decided that I want the speed3 red. They of course just sold the only one they had last week. They had a black speed6 which looked really nice, but I kinda dig the speed3 more now that I looked more into it.

Is it true that they will only make 5000 of these? I plan to buy next year and I hope to get my hand on a virgin one. Is it still possible (we are still talking about car...yes)

Thanks to everyone that responded. I just wanted to follow up and let you guys know that I just bought a WRX (pearl white) today.

I took my g/f to the Subaru dealer for a test drive. I figured it was a moot point since she was pushing me to get the Speed6 after her test drive the other week. I was sure that she wouldn't have settled for the cloth interior of the WRX vs. the nice leather Mazda has to offer...

What do you know, there is a little deamon inside her who loves to drive. Within 10 minutes driving the car, she said that this was the one. I have always loved the Scoobies, but the Speed6 had me tempted. I was sure that after visiting the Subaru dealer I would have went to mazda to sign the papers. Who knew? (shrug)

Not saying Speed6 is a bad car, after all it took me 4 weeks to decide.

Congrats! scoobies never disappoint and they last forever...fun to drive too! their only problem is that unlike chucks, chicks dont dig it...but if yours does...then you have a perfect wife LOL...all you need now, is make her love football sundays and poker nights!

Glad you got the right car for you. You couldn't go wrong either way, but you do have that real AWD, and the proven reliability of Subaru. That car is gonna last you a LONG time, and the mod potential is there at your disposal very easily, since it's basically a detuned STI engine from 06+. It's a really well built proven machine, that will last. ENJOY!!!!

Congrats on the new car! I have some friends who own WRXs and they are very happy with them. I was in the same situation as you, but it only took me 2 weeks to decide, thanks to comparison threads like this one. Then came the 3 agonizing weeks waiting for my used 2006 MS6 to be delivered.

The additional luxury of the MS6 is really what won me over. I was upgrading from a 98 Eclipse RS, so no matter what I was improving both performance and ride quality. I have only had my MS6 for a week, but I am sure I made the right choice.
