I stumbled across this thread.

Green, touring, 3.8 M5, in the Alps, only 4 ever made.
I think a tear is forming in my eye.

Which one is yours?

I am close to buying a 1995 525i (stick o' course) Oxford Green (w/ rare grey leather interior combo) at the moment.... it's already Dinan chipped to slighly over 200hp (ok not great but Jebus the handling and style.... and still solid gas mileage). It all depends how quickly I want to compromise on the already wretched resale of my Proteg.

But I should still come out ahead at least $500-1500. For a car that will last longer and depreciate less in the long run than my underappreciated Sloteg (sorry buddy!). The grand or so saved will go directly towards my '90 Miata's turbo and suspension makeover. I am no traitor to Mazda. :)

^ I just looked at a 95 540i Sport 6-speed M-technic. What a sweet car. The problem is I can buy an early e39 540i for the same price.

OMG I would so take that over an E39. E34's are the best-looking sedans ever built IMO and that blue is fanatastic. Don't get me wrong, the E39's can look cool in proper trim but they're just unnecessarily bulbous-looking. Plus I've read many give the fun-to-drive edge to the E34.

The V8's scare me on my budget though. Inline-6 much more reliable and easier to maintain.

^I actually like the looks of the E39s better then the E34s. But the E34 is a classic BMW where the E39 is a modern design that will be a classic in time.

Make sure the water pump is the metal impellar one. You remember where I work right?

Oh I remember where you work. It had the good water pump.

But the car is already gone after being on the market a few days. Sucks. It was super clean. It sucks -- I have to look for cars in other states because Vegas is a horrible car market. People either want way too much, the cars are mistreated, or accessorized with so much horrible stuff it's unbelievable.

I had to buy my BMW motorbike in Phoenix, my Miata in San Diego, and this E34 was in Salt Lake. I would have paid a hundred bucks for a one-way ticket up there in a heartbeat... but it's gone. Maybe I'll luck out one of these days.

I agree, I like them both.

I know its not the same class but I should take some pictures of me estoril E36 to compete with these pics hehe.

The problem is the e34 is at the age where there are more bad ones then good ones. You should go pickup either Bimmer or Roundel magazine and look at the classifieds in the bad of them. Most if not all BMWs for sale.

Hey, You should come up to Bavarian Autosport for their annual Show & Shine on Oct 7th. Do you know I work there? Sorry to thread jack.

I think I saw a thread about it on bimmerworld. I do not think I can make it, actually I know I cant im going into NYC that night and my aunt will be here, it is my day off from work. My weekends are wednesday and thursdays because of work. And it is a long distance drive. Maybe next time?

I'm liking this one, but I still have huge soft spot for E34's. My last search it was impossible to find one with reliable history outside of the 170-240K mile range. Too much.

I wish that car is closer to me. A 528i with sport package. I bet it will need alot of replacement parts because its in the mileage range where alot of stuff goes bad. The first thing I would do is the angel eyes heads, clear side markers, and LED taillights to give it a 01-03 faclelift.
