if i get my car looking prettier for the show then yes if not i just might spectate who knows. i really dont want to drive to the spring meet then drive home and back to uconn....but if its pretty then maybe, but then again i wouldnt win anything next to jeremys and a lot of peoples car so BLAH

Who cares? Mine is beat up but we want to make a great showing as a club so.....BE THERE!

I'll probably never "finish" the car anyway. They'll always be lots more room for improvement.

The "cool" factor will be a dozen plus Mazdas lined up!!

+1 Exatly. The RSX club says they have 50 coming from ny, nj, ct, ri, and ma. Theres even 9 from the ford truck group going. It would be great if we could try to compete with those guys and theirs no reason we can't.

Remind everyone that its all about MAZDAS, not just one model, but we have protege's, miatas, rx-8's, etc. that should be part of this.

Is this posted in the best place to get it the most attention?

yea, this is it.

I can email the NEPOC list and see who turns out, and we could crosspost into the other regional state-specific forums (NJ NY etc) and see if anyone wants to join us.

50 cars just from one rsx club is a LOT for a show. We have had more than that at some meets but thats a lot of space to take up in a parking lot as part of a show.

yeah I just posted what was registered. I am calling (bs) that they all realy show up.

Where is everyone coming from?

I was going to discuss with Sean and Jared the best place to meet. I am assuming off of I-84 will be the majority, is that correct? I know anyone coming from southern CT would have to go past UConn on 195, but I was thinking we could meet at the Dunkin Donut off of I-84 exit 68. Its the exit for UConn, there is the dunkin donuts, gas and subway are across the street. That way people can get a coffee, gas food etc. or we can meet in the new Big Y parking lot because it would be larger?

the parking lot at DD is pretty small. there's a dirt part at the back that makes it bigger but people probably don't want to go there with their nice clean cars. there's a commuter lot right next to it but i feel like that's where a lot of people will meet so it might be crowded since it's not a big lot. Big Y has a pretty big parking lot, we could do that. Or right next to Big Y there's that plaza that used to have an IGA in it but is now vacant, it's a pretty big lot and only a few businesses are there. or off exit 69 we could meet at the troop c barracks :)

Lets go with the Big Y parking lot. That way those coming from Southeastern CT won't have to go too far past UConn to meet with us becuae they will be coming up 195. Once I get the times I post that also.

Thanks for the help Jared.

just something to be aware of, for some reason big y is normally crowded on weekends. we'll probably be ok as there's plenty of parking at the back but if a few other groups meet there room could be limited

how about we shoot for that and first couple people there can choose their or the lot next to it if its full. I'm sure we can all look for other mazdas as long as we have a general area.

Registration opens at 9. Lot is like 10 minutes from Campus. What time should we meet?

Just to reiterate:

- The parking lot has a maximum capacity of around 600 cars. Once the parking lot is full, THE GATES WILL BE CLOSED. No ifs ands or buts, plan accordingly and it should not be a problem.
- Arrive with the people you want to park with, theres will not be any room to leave empty parking spaces open. (see below for parking lots outside of the show that you can congregate at prior to arrival)

830, that way there's plenty of time. I bet there's going to be a lot of cars.

If it's a very nice day out....I'd expect a s*** load. Cabin fever baby! Everyone is coming out.

going down the night before works, ppl could leave from the spring cleaining meet. Heck we could have the spring cleaning meet in northeastern CT and make a weekend of it but I dont know where (my parents' house is garage-less with a gravel driveway)

We could try and get a group rate at a hotel nearby!!
SERIOUSLY!!

I will quote myself since I guess you missed it!

I also mentioned going straight to Mohegan Sun after the cleaning meet.

Cindy and I were online checking hotel rates last night.
Some places are already sold out bcuz it's the 1st weekend on school break?

Aight so I think we all agree:

8:30 Big Y or neighbooring parking lot off of CT-195.

(Off I-84 take exit 68 and head on CT-195 toward UConn Storrs, CT. It will be on the left)
(Coming from Southeastern CT, Casinos, Its off CT-195 past UConn on the right.)

1.)Luke (Skywlkr) (860) 460.8605 if anyone needs it that day.
2.)Josh (Altspace)
3.)Dan (Crazee D)
4.)Bruce (A223818) so far
5.)slug
6.)mark (bazooka t. joe)(wink)
7.)B (Lowpro)
8) Sean (seanmcsean)
