I just had this installed on the MS6. It is amazing. The shifts are so nice and chrisp and short. I would recommend this to everyone.

I had the dealership do it(Walser Mazda) since that is where I bought the car. I didn't want to risk screwing up the counsil or anything with scratches or breaking anything.

It was $150 to have them do it.

Here are a few pics...

i saw a speed 6 at the meet that had the short shifter, it feels awesome, the throws are so much shorter and it feels very precise.

I did this install myself and it is one of the most satisfying things I could have done.
It makes shifting with this stupid clutch so much easier because the throw between gears is so much quicker, more solid, and precise that I can do a gear change in one consistent motion of the clutch rather than the rpm's dropping off in between shifts like it did before (while driving in a more deliberate, smooth manner as you would on most days) leading to a rough engagement.
Thanks to TWM for making my Speed what I want it to be!(drive)

Is the shifter overly notchy now and hard to get in some gears? That is usually a complaint about short shifters.

Overly notchy, I'd say no. You definatly know when you are in gear though. I'd say more of crisp than notchy!

With a heavier aftermarket shift knob, TWM for instance (I have a black anodized TWM) mine feels smoother than the stock shifter. And alot shorter of course......

I only mention this because I finally received the silver carbon fiber shifter from CorkSport and it is lighter than the stock knob. To me the CF LOOKS better but the TWM being heavier FEELS better.

I agree. Got the Type R knob from TWM and what a difference it makes together with the short shifter kit. BTW, comparing the typr R to the stock knob, the later seems to be a featherweight despite it isn't so light weight to begin with. Highly recommended.

Just need a custom boot from Redline in black with some silver stitching and it will be complete!

Yes, I orginally order the Satin black just like yours. But they ran out of stock and I changed to stainless steel and it turns out quite a good match IMO :)

Hey guys,

Glad to hear you're enjoying the MazdaSpeed 6 short shifter! Our first production run was almost all gone before it was even complete because of our pre-orders, but we have plenty in stock now. Thanks for your orders and thank you for the props!
