TWM shifter installation question

The stock shifter is still installed. I'm looking at the TWM shifter I got, and the installation instructions that came with it. The instructions say that am I to remove the plastic bushings from the bottom of the stock shifter, and use them on the TWM shifter.

I figured those old bushings are worn, so I picked up a new set from the dealership. I'm now looking at the new shifter and its hardware, the new bushings, and the installation instructions.

Where the hell do those bushings go? There isn't a picture showing where they go. To me it seems like they aren't used at all.

Are they used or not? Where do they go?

Hey, it's been about 3 years since I did this mod, but here goes. I quickly re-read the instructions and they say that you will not be reusing the plastic bushings at the base of the shifter lever. You are getting confused because it says to re-use the plastic white "bushing" which goes with the plastic boot. These are separate parts. All the parts which which will make up the linkage at the bottom of the lever are all new and supplied with the kit.

This was one of the best mods I ever made to my 'Speed....night and day difference in shifter feel.

Hope this helps. Install wasn't too bad....hardest part for me was the rubbing bushings in the front by the tranny which I ordered as well, really tightened up the shifting.

I get it now. Thanks for un-confusing me.

I got the two bushings that go on the tranny too, but I'm not sure if I'll put them on or not. I'll probably leave the stock ones on for now, to see what the difference is with the new shifter and the stock tranny bushings. I'll drive like that for a while and then install the Polyurethane bushings.
