So if you cant shift from 2-3 does that mean you = fail ? (lol2)
Yes, for trying to drive the car like it was a '60s musclecar.
Road cars are designed to be driven with smoothness and finesse and not to be pounded on like it was a '69 Camaro.
i hit 2-3 well, never really had an issue, my problem is 4-5, 5th gear seems to always be missing..
It's Vin Diesel yo! F-n-f syle!! Got to slam them gears.

I've been driving sticks a loooonnnngggg time (I started with a "three on the tree") and I have never had the problem with missing shifts that I do with this car. Always going over and up (2-3, 4-5) nothing else. I don't know if it's the tranny or the shifter.
Has anybody who had this problem cured it by getting an aftermarket shifter?
It seems Mazda fails at transmissions. The Protege transmission was/is s*** too.
I've been "adjusting" my shifting for years as well to make it last...
Fale.
After re evaluating the whole 2-3 misshift nonsense, I am really starting to believe it's the clutch pedal not being all the way down, combined with some binding in the linkage due to engine torque pulling the engine towards the front of the car, placing undue force on the cable.
