Turbosmart Dual Port Sleeper Blow off Valve

Alright, I know that its quite expensive. But I really am not a big fan of the loud noise from the upgraded BPV/BOV.

Can anyone speak of how the sound of this one compares to others?

i have the turbosmart dual port and it is load

i'm talking about the sleeper BOV which is different from the regular turbosmart hybrid valve. its supposedly quieter, i was just wondering if anyone has any experience w/ the turbosmart hybrid sleeper BOV or maybe had a sound clip. overall i like the regular turbosmart hybrid with the exception of the noise, if I could get a similar product but quieter -- i would throw down the extra $$$

They make them for two reasons, function and noise. they all basically work the same so if you like the turbosmart hybrid but not the noise, I'm confused. The noise is really the only noticeable difference if they are doing their job correctly.

if you don't want noises, honestly, use they stock valve and save your money. If you are leaking, then yeah, upgrade to a BPV <- not a BOV or hybrid. Just steer clear of the forge bpv because it will give you a super mario coin block sound. anyone have any good bpv recommendations? I usually only concern myself with noise makers (rei)

well with the turbosmart I like how you can determine how much u want VTA & how much u want recirc.

I'm getting this mod for function. The stock BPV is piece of plastic that some people say leaks.....

If you are getting it for function run it full Recirc and adjust it accordingly. Otherwise it is not for function and you are looking for sound!

i would likely run on full recirc. or mostly recirc but even the aftermarket BPVs which are 100% recirc seem to be significantly louder than stock. i'm just looking for the highest quality product that is the quietest. I mean I suppose I could handle the noise, I would just prefer it to be as minimal as possible.....

I like the HKS SSQV on recirc. It isn't TOO loud. There is definitely a noticeable difference, but it isn't nearly as annoying as the Forge sound can be and it's not as loud as a lot of other valves out there. You'll notice the sound, but as long as you have it fitted for recirculation instead of VTA, I don't think the sound is overpowering.

If you order it, get the bolt-on-specific kit from protege garage so you don't have to mess with the clips and flanges. It's all set up for you so that all you need to do is un-bolt the stock BPV, bolt on the HKS SSQV, and attach the recirc fitting.

Since the HKS SSQV is a BOV, you'd have to get the recirc fitting for another 40 bux to run it on recirc, right?

Not if you order the bolt-on kit from protege garage. It comes with EVERYTHING, including the recirc kit and fittings.

directly of the PG website: Direct bolt on billet aluminum blow-off valve made by HKS. No messing with flanges, clips or snap rings! Unbolt the old BPV, bolt this one on and go! The BOV utilizes a dual valve system to ensure quick response and complete closure during idle.
HKS Super SQV (Super Sequential Blow Off Valve) uses a unique sequential valve structure and a differential pressure control system, which allows for a broad operation range from low boost to high boost.

it doesn't say nething about the recirc kit... u sure??

thats correct, even fully recirculated most bpv will be louder than stock. So no real need to spend a grip on the turbsmart which will be loud, but i see what you mean about wanting to adjust the amount of vta.

I have the knockoff greddy type s from ebay and it was dirt cheap and sounds great even fully recuirculated, givea a nice sound and works much better than stock.

I've been trying to figure out what bpv to get next too, the turbosmart is nice but expensive, the forge and turbo xs seem kind of loud, the hks has clearance issues with the cobb sri, and the synapse has clearance issues with everything. Does anyone have any experience with the RKM one I saw floating around or what does that leave left for a bpv?

I am completely sure. I called Protege garage and asked them personally, and I ordered the kit. It comes with EVERYTHING, including the recirc kit.

I for one have just installed the forge BPV but i dont have an intake yet. The forge is actually pretty quiet I cant even hear it with my radio on. I dont know if the intake will make the noise any louder but the BPV kinda sounds like a dying canary.

I just installed the Turbosmart dual port sleeper valve and I love it. It sounds great and no backfiring or problems. This is the 4th aftermarket valve I've tried (Forge, HKS, Greddy) and I'm going to stick with this. I kept going back to the Forge in the past which you really can't beat as far as bang for the buck. I like the sound better with the Turbosmart though and its actually quieter in hybrid mode than the Forge is in full recirc. I also have a Cobb SRI by the way so of course everything is louder with that.

i just installed the forge bpv the other day and i dont think its that lound. in fact, compared to stock its about the same exept for a more anoying ping sound.

I've been running the Turbosmart hybrid for about a month now. It's a great little part. Another forum member convinced me the money is worth it. I was skeptical, but now believe. If you're driving your mom to church, it's quiet. If you're throwing down with you boy, it's loud. Aggressive. Holds boost like a mofo - I spool to 16 - 17 psi right quick when I mash, and it holds it like a beast so long as you keep on it. My idle is slightly affected on cold mornings, so I may tighten/lube soon. No significant issues however, and very worth it.

It was either this or forge. DaleNixon has a forge, and I was very amused by it. Don't know if he's tired of playing mario yet, but it definitely sounds like a coin grab.

The Forge BPV is a good product and works well for me. Get a turbo inlet pipe and the ping everyone seems to think is annoying is virtually gone. You still hear Pssshh just not the ping after. (cool)
